Sure. But 22.5 points is a lot to cover. You'd have to be extremely confident, or just a super fanboy, to bet the Patriots to cover that. Which they absolutely could. But say Brady's calf acts up in the first quarter, and Stidham has to finish, and they only win 24-3? Still a blowout and a dominating performance, but it doesn't cover.

JetFan79 bet the Jets to win.

Reminds me of P T Barnum.

Even the moneyline's not a terrible play. Must be like, what, +1500?

Although, there's an outside chance the Jets cover. There is a 0% chance they win outright.

Edit: There we go, Brown released. Don't know how much cap relief we get, but at least they're not out the money.

Imagine looking forward to the Jete ...
After this AB nightmare ... can't wait for Sunday.

Currently the Pats are still at -23 to beat the Jets. I wonder if that line will move at all?

I expect it will. Ultimately the Pats practiced all week with Brown as part of the game plan, so there's going to need to be some adjustments on the fly for the offense.

should drop by a point or 2.

I doubt it moves even a half-point. The only players that move lines are quarterbacks.

Moneyline is already moving.
Well the moneyline was +10billion. That stands to reason. If for whatever reason this point spread moves at all, sharps are going to dump all sort of money on the Patriots.

it moved by a point. I'm hoping vegas moves the NEP futures so I can jump on it,

Let's lose all those AB threads
We are on to the Jets!

A QB who has never faced so much as a quality college defense is going against what might be the best NFL defense since the 2000 Ravens.
The same QB who struggled at the combine because of lack of sleep the night before due to nervousness.
This is the horse you're going to ride to upset the Patriots at home?
Excuse me, bit are you talking about Luke Faulk? The guy who was signed to the team after Darnell's mono diagnosis, and then after JUST a week of practice gets thrown into a live game AND completes 80% of his passes for 200 yds against a pretty good Browns D. Yes that's right EIGHTY percent of his passes.

Doesn't that concern any of you? I would think that what Faulk did was beyond impressive. Now he has a full week to prepare as the top QB and a game plan designed around HIS skill set instead of Simean's.

The Jets' talent level is much better than the Dolphins, and we are lucky that they will be missing Williams, and Mosely who are two key parts of the Jets defense. But the fact is that its very possible that we will enter the game with 2 OT's who weren't even on the team when the season started.

Sure we will very likely win the game by a comfortable margin. But at what cost. Will Brady just become one in a long line of NFL QB's to get knocked out of a game? The Jets aren't a great team, but they are better (at least talent wise) than what is being presented here.

If you don't respect your opponents the results can be costly. EVERY player on the Jets roster was better than 98% of the thousands of college players the year they came out. They are good football players. Their DL is particularly good while our OL might be missing 3 of the 5 players we expected to be there at the start of the season. NOT IDEAL!

The Dolphins are a good example of a team you can "laugh at". But they held the Pats offense WITH AB, to 13 points well into the 3rd quarter before it all came apart. The Jets defense is MUCH better.

The point of this is, I guess, trying to make you all take this team more seriously. While it always fun to mock the Jets and even more fun to mock their fans, the Pats will be facing 45 guys who are being paid a LOT of money to play football, and they are all pretty good at it or they wouldn't be on the roster.

Just thought you ought to know.

WHEN THE PATRIOTS PASS
The issues along the offensive line and Brown’s exit are going to have a domino effect on the Patriots passing game. The Patriots still have high-end talent at wideout with Julian Edelman and a physical option in Josh Gordon. They still have one of the hardest offenses in the league to defend against schematically because of the formations, motions, personnel groupings and versatility. They use their backs in the passing game as well as anyone. But they have no proven tight end option (though Lacosse sparked optimism last week) and the blitzing style of Gregg Williams’ defense means the Patriots will need to keep some extra bodies in to protect. The Patriots will be looking to get it out quick and that means they’ll have to win 1-on-1 quickly. Keep an eye on Jakobi Meyers getting a high number of looks.

ADVANTAGE: Jets

Is Curran serious?

I respect your opinion Ken and all your points are absolutely valid, but if I, a fan of the New England Patriots, want to overlook and ridicule the Jets, i will do it. Nothing what i think or say on the internet has an impact on the outcome of this game. And you know very well that this team does not overlook any opponent, doesn't matter how inferior they are. This defense will have looked at hours of college film of Luke Faulk and Scar had another week to get Newhouse and Co. up to speed. And as Brady said, there are no easy games in the NFL. And while i don't think it's gonna be another 43-0 blowout, i still believe the Pats cover.

Hey Ken, I'm not sure, but do we at patsfans actually have any effect on the Patriots, osmosis or otherwise? Asking for a friend...

Jakob Johnson promoted from PS. Hoping Develin is not out for long as he is an absolute beast in our run game, plus he can catch s few.
