Antonio Brown

Agree. Why arent posters on here calling for his head?
Another good point. Chung is potentially a drug king pin but nobody on here seemed to care after a few days.

LOL, welcome to Sending Veiled Threat Text Messages That Leave Room for Plausible Deniability 101. C'mon, man. That's the whole point. He knows he can't come right out and threaten her in a written text message. He'd be finished. No offense, but you seem incredibly naive on this subject.
So it’s better to make up meaning that doesn’t exist to prove a point you wish you could make but can’t?

Exactly what do you think he is threatening?
Murder her children?

He missed one thing. He was asked whether he he could explain the role of Antonio Brown in the upcoming game. He said "No, we're not going to get into that." What he should have said was "Well, he's a wide receiver. That's what he does."
If there ever is an opportunity for snark, usually Bill jumps on it like Beetle Bertrand grabs the last slice of pizza.

Love AB as a player. Think it's awesome he's a Pat with a chance to catch passes from TB12. That said, I'm not going to allow my fandom to delude me into thinking the guy is not a creep. I think it's obvious by now, he has some issues in that department. How far those issues extend is still in question, but the texts, if true, reveal someone who has some issues.. clearly.
Oh he’s a complete turd. But he’s our turd :D

I would honestly pay cash money to sit in a conference room and listen to BB practice press conference responses.

It would be gold, Jerry. Gold!
Sounds very disappointing. “The team we are playing is very good and will present challenges. The injury report comes out on Wednesday. No. I already said no. “

Send me $50 ;)

You're ignoring reality, much like the Kraft thread. Not wasting my time.

I feel like this will get moved, but I want to see where the fanbase stands on this.

Are a lot of you willing to stand by Brown and defend him until this clears up, one way or the other? Or do you think this is becoming more trouble than it’s worth, and we should cut bait now?

We’ve seen AB act like a complete petulant child before any of this lawsuit even became known. Do we want association with that character any longer? Or are we still stuck in the “every1 is haterz” mindset and act like he’s done no wrong?

Question worth asking.

I don't intend to defend his actions or act like he's done no wrong; I fully expect that he's an entitled a-hole who has no consideration of others whom he considers less worthy (and he considers practically everyone to be less worthy) and who is a misogynist and abuser of women who don't do what he wants. I don't want to meet him, and I don't admire his character.

In this way, he's much like a lot of other players whom I have cheered for. Ted Johnson comes to mind, he sounded like a real piece of work (caveat - he may have been affected by CTE but according to what I have read he was always that way). Hell of a middle LB though who played hard and great for us. So I'm a fan of his football skill, dedication and play on the field. But not the person.

When the players we love on the field are also nice or admirable guys off of it, that's great. When they're not, that's too bad, but I don't expect to have a list of player personal characteristics to go from when I decide whether to cheer or not. We have had some really bad people on this team in the past and will also have them in the future. And some really great ones. I applaud the latter and ignore the former. Football is a violent game and will attract some narsty and violent people who will only be worse for the experience. It's part of the baggage that we have to carry as fans. When it gets too heavy, some will drop it and move on.

Good point. As I predicted in that thread, that story would disappear. My guess is why is because the media always looks for the next story and that Chung is not a super star like Brown.
Maybe that is why Brown keeps having more issues to get the focus of the older ones?

Have you all seen this morning's Belichick presser? Look over to the right and you'll find the video.

He is asked if he expects Brown to play on Sunday.

He kind of goes a little buggy in a non-Belichick way and then answers, "He's on our roster." Anyone who thinks they aren't heavily discussing what to do with him right now, whether it's a matter of him being cut, suspended, etc., isn't being truthful with themselves. It all hangs in the balance today.

Belichick was uncharacteristically thrown a little by that question. You usually see him much more confident in his approach and answers.
Go look at his week 2 press conference. They ask him, "is Antonio Brown going to play this weekend?" and he says, "we'll do what's best for our football team". Another reporter later asks him, "is Antonio Brown playing Sunday what's best for the football team?" and he says something like, "how would I know, he just got here."

Trying to read the tea leaves on what Belichick says in a press conference is silly.

AB is ruining my enjoyment of this football season. Instead of hearing about the Patriots, their defense, and matchups, I hear about AB all the faulking time, its AB 24/7. I am sick of it. I want to hear about football, not a faulking soap opera.
You must’ve really hated 2007.

99.9% of the time, shows, articles don’t talk x’s and o’s. It’s all about who yelled at who, who wants to get traded, who got thrown under the bus, etc.

Nothing Brown said in the text messages is particularly egregious (the story is being embellished big time). However, the fact that he decided to contact her at all is just a terrible idea on his part and shows an extreme lack of judgement.

I think he'll get suspended. Even if he, hypothetically, didn't rape anyone, this is just a pattern of bad decisions over and over again. At some point he needs to be disciplined. I'm fine at this point with Goodell suspending him for violating the personal conduct policy. I expect him to lose like 4-6 games.

That disappeared before Brown signed. It was bizarre how quickly those Chung allegations went away like it never happened.

So you think he threatened her, somewhere between the lines, but refuse to explain what the threat you think he made was and I’m ignoring reality.
So reality is what you make up and can’t explain?

Nike drops AB... that might make the $2 million settlement look like a bargain

That’s a travesty if he’s innocent, and very deserving if he’s not

6 games is the standard

I get to ask the questions. :p
