That is why they must release him. The latest is not an accusation it is a text. A text only a self absorbed moron would make. If we have to walk around all year on eggshells because we are afraid of setting him off then it is going to be a long season. This dirtbag is taking the fun out of being a Patriot fan.

Up until now I figured since all the other stuff was when he was not playing for us it was not our problem. Now it is our problem. At least during Defaltegate and Spygate we knew the Patriot Way that we are so proud of was just being attacked unjustified. This time it is being attacked from within. Send this punk on his way. If he is not coddled then he is not happy, and even then he acts out. Gordon is a good kid and was deserving of love and energy. This self absorbed maniac has been given some love and energy but does not really care. He needs help not a team
I knew this post would get some dislikes.

I get your thought of him being released hurts your thoughts that we finally have a big time receiver we can get excited about. Try and make excuses for him because he is one of us now, and that he will fall in place like all the others did. I was hoping for the same. Problem is I saw him for what he really was while he was torturing Pitt and Oakland. When he came here I forgot all that stuff and thought imagine what he could be like here. I got blinded by his talent and pushed the dark side of him to the back of my mind. Another SB is guaranteed. Then the cloud this guy carries with him just kept getting darker. It was hard to enjoy what the other 52 were doing to have an unbelievable season. This guy was sucking the air right out of the room. An has only been here for a week and a half.

Maybe he finally gets it right and plays and acts well here. I don’t know those answers. What I do know is that I am done with him. Go haunt someone else

You're being extremely gross here. Stop gaslighting me and others on this forum. I'm the first to admit when I'm wrong. Demanding an apology for nothing is a diversion tactic that I hope most people on this forum can see through.

Calling me out for using diversion tactics is rich. You then bring in the entire board hoping to fortify some kind of 1/2 ass defense after calling for my apology when I was misrepresented by you in the first place.

Saying you are the first to admit you are wrong or show humility doesn't really hold true.

To be clear, you are the only one I am calling out in this thread because you deserve it.

All I asked was for you to adjust/amend your post. Instead you refused to take responsibility.

This guy was an enemy for years, has been here for barely 2 weeks bringing absolutely nothing but trouble, and some people here are tripping over themselves to defend him like he’s Tom Brady. It’s absolutely nuts.

Like the other guy said, no police reports. Let that sink in. Yeah he's illiterate and uneducated and maybe that factors into the perception of him but at the end of the day he's innocent until proven guilty. If I got accused of something I didn't do i'd be pretty heated myself. He did this through a text message. How many people tee off verbally in public because of they were told they did something wrong when they didn't or for whatever reason?

Should pin this post to the top of the thread.

what I find a little odd is that AB texts this artist at 10:47 this past Wednesday night and a letter from a high profile attorney is sent to the NFL either last night or this morning? So, the artist contacted this lawyer yesterday and letter written the same day? That's seems lightning fast,,,no?
How did she even know who to contact?

Because Klemko/SI set it up for her, at least that's my guess.

Tell me when brown was declared guilty? He has issues but this is all bs! The pats have gave him his due process. Was it smart for him to text this person? No! He probably was pissed that his dirty laundry was published on SI.

You have every right to post here as much as you please (or as much as the mods please), but you've been breathlessly saying the same few things for the better part of 48 hours.

You're clearly gaslighting (which to me is very unseemly).

If you think I should apologize for saying in response to your comments on Hill that a lot of the posters on this board were in favor of his suspension, you really should reevaluate. Your arguments are juvenile and laughable. I'm done with your nonsense.

P.S. making broad assumptions about me based on one disagreement is the ultimate example of gaslighting. Just calling a spade a spade.

Uh....that's not really the situation here. You're talking about normal people with some random crazy accusation and a somewhat normal human response.

AB's situation is anything but normal. He's now exhibited a very very disturbing pattern of behavior. An employer absolutely would have the right to tell an employee to knock that crap off, especially if it's damaging the brand or the workplace.
No I am talking about someone sending a text to someone who publicly criticized them.
If you want to cut brown because of who is it what he did, fine. But dont take something relatively innocuous and make it out to be more than it is because it was sensationalized by the media.

This isn't the blessed order of St. Mary the meek, so yes...

Would like to know more about this SI writer. Where’s he’s from, who is he a fan of?

No. I want him out ASAP. Enough is enough. And the fact BB said "We are looking into these things" doesn't help AB's situation. I'm tired of this weekly drama. Just end it now.

The Patriots don't need AB to be SB champs (Though they'll slide back behind the Chiefs in the power rankings). But it's still possible to win a SB without him.

You don't have a clue what you're talking about, but that's par for the course.
Wow you got me there.
Great argument.

Primetime:
“I’m right and you are wrong because despite all the facts I said so”

Hoe can you lose with that approach?

You don't think the Patriots already told him to keep quiet? They obviously did. I'm sure he didn't think the whole thing through (that his private text messages would get leaked). He should have expected it though. The SI writers and this woman are clearly adversarial and have no reason to protect Brown's privacy.
Although I think that what he did was dumb, let's look at this a little closer:

1. Why would he include his attorney in the texts? To claim privileged texts? That he never wanted images posted (online)?
2. A detail in the texts missed by most: she painted the mural "in my room." That was not in the SI story, which said in his house. I was picturing AB walking naked in the living room, but it was in his room! This certainly brings context to the whole story.
3. It was SI who posted the texts online, outing the painter. She will now be googled and researched and stuff will come out on her, no need to pay to dig up dirt now.

Not justifying anything he "may have" done, but so far there aren't any charges for any of this. Its all conjecture at this point.

For the guys defending AB, what is your breaking point with him?

If tomorrow he tweets slurring Taylor causing more drama the day before game day, is he gone?

Well i will keep hammering my point. Unfortunately we have too many mother teresa here who never got heated over something . Innocent until proven guilty. That text was not threatening. Sorry.

one game at a time

1) Who are you cutting to cover the $4M of 2020 bonus money which would come due?

2) Is the team really better with Meyers active instead of Brown? He wouldn't even get reps while we sit Edelman, Gordon or Dorsett.

I love how Bill does these press conferences. Give these media assholes nothing. Not for any of us to decide whether AB is innocent or guilty but while he's getting paid and on the roster he's going to play.

That is not what I said at all. Clearly you do not understand what is meant by 'coloring judgement' as what 'color' things are viewed in is how they are looked at in terms of being viewed through the lens of a preconceived subjective notion. That Brown has colored himself in a very unfavorable light through his past actions is undeniable. Not even his most ardent supporter could make a case for him having earned much in the way of slack when it comes to how his actions might be viewed. We need go no further than your own words to illustrate

We are not in disagreement over what I took to be your meaning, essentially that being "a turd" doesn't automatically make him guilty of any accusation levied against him. It does however most assuredly color the light in which such accusations are seen. Were you to have said "Who he is doesn't necessarily make him guilty in every given circumstance" then we would not be having this discussion. You misused the expression 'color' in such a way as to have it mean the polar opposite of how it is commonly held.

colour somebody’s judgment/opinions/attitudes etc | meaning of colour somebody’s judgment/opinions/attitudes etc in Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English | LDOCE

colour somebody’s judgment/opinions/attitudes etc to influence the way someone thinks about something, especially so that they become less fair or reasonable
Yeah and that’s totally not how I used the word.

I feel like this will get moved, but I want to see where the fanbase stands on this.

Are a lot of you willing to stand by Brown and defend him until this clears up, one way or the other? Or do you think this is becoming more trouble than it’s worth, and we should cut bait now?

We’ve seen AB act like a complete petulant child before any of this lawsuit even became known. Do we want association with that character any longer? Or are we still stuck in the “every1 is haterz” mindset and act like he’s done no wrong?

Question worth asking.
Until something, anything, is actually proven, nothing should happen to Brown. He's a good football player. We know about the head issues. If he's willing to tune out the world and just play football he'll fit here. If not, and by that I mean if he's PROVEN that he isn't prepared to embrace the Patriot Way, he's gone.

One of the reasons this charade might actually work out is that we don't actually need AB. He's got no leverage and he knows it. He's GOT to make good or his career is practically done. Hopefully he understands that and is prepared to play ball and put the drama aside.

As for the various accusations floating around... even if I believe them (and to a point I actually do) Nothing should happen to anyone on the basis of an accusation. Accusation is not proof. When and if there's proof, then the team will act, just like it did with Aaron Hernandez. Right now the best possible action is not to act.
