OL Updates from Scar

Still don't know why people thought the best move was to put half of our remaining starters out of position just to "have our best player at LT" (even if that player isn't our best when he's at LT).

Fewer moves is better, so long as you have 5 people who can do the job. But Newhouse looked awful at LT vs. Miami and Thuney looked great there in camp.

If Scar can coach Newhouse up, though, fantastic news.

I thought Newhouse looked good in miami considering he has only been here for 3 days. It will be better now with Cannon back. Instead of having to help out both sides hopefully we can focus the help to our LT. As he plays more here he should improve as well.

As long as our other 4 guys stay healthy from this point on until Wynn returns it is possible to work with this.

So, barring further injuries we have our OL until the bye. Obviously, there can be occasional changes for minor injuries. Cannon might even sit this week.

Newhouse-Thuney-Karras-Mason-Cannon

We have 2 interior linemen (Eluemunor, Ferentz) and two OT's (Benenoch, Cunningham) competing to see who is activated each week. We could certainly see more players trying out to try to upgrade here. A better backup center is a priority; BB has already tried and failed.

As an aside, I would think that there often will be a blocking TE or Develin helping out Newhouse.

When Marshall plays well, then gets a big contract in FA, maybe he’ll be able to buy that new house.

Develin is likely out. LaCosse also not at practice.

OL is def a concern. But, of all the coaches in the League, Scar is in the top 5 of "who you can trust".

Who is the 5th? Gilmore?

The tune changes if Newhouse is awful against the Jets.

No. Obviously, there will be folks here that will post that Newhouse was awful, just like last week. Apparently, Dante doesn't value these analyses. Dante thought that Newhouse was so good that he name him the starter until Wynn returns.

Dante will give Newhouse lots of time to learn, lots of time. A week or two or even three or four of poor play, as identified by patsfans posters won't matter much.

So BB will just stand by and "trust the process" if Brady is taking a beating week in and out? I'm not saying he will take a beating. But would a guy like Belichick not do nothing?

Just listened to Dante's short interview on Pat's.com and the guy just oozes class. All just part of the job he says......great guy and coach.

But, who can play center?

Who is the Game Day backup center? If Karras is out for a series, who would come in?

Ferentz at this point

Edit: Sorry, I thought you were asking the question and didn’t realize the context until clicking to view the rest of the post that was on my ignore list.
