Her team imposed a deadline with threats of disclosure and civil action......but AB’s team declined to play ball.

Her approach to the NFL is both an attempt to create external pressure on AB to settle and an indirect means to validate her charges without seeking criminal action.

Got to wonder why her team has been dead set against filing criminal charges.
Given she is using her name, has provided personal details, and been incredibly proactive, except for seeking criminal charges, I categorically reject any argument that paints her as too distraught to report her rape to authorities.
Her team failed at phase one... the clean cash grab.... and phase two is under way, a phase that seeks NFL validation before a civil trial.

And as far as we know, Team AB has not succumbed to her leverage tactics
Good post. Given 20-20 hindsight, it looks like both "legal teams" failed the client miserably. I wonder if. given the choice after all that has occurred and all that MIGHT occur; AB wishes he had just settled.

What would, say, a million dollars would have meant to him compared with the millions he has and the millions left to be made over the next 2 or more seasons before he left the NFL, not to mention the public embarrassment of having EVERY mistake he's ever made become public.

At this point even if he plays the entire season and we win a Superbowl, he going to be labelled as a scumbag..... even by us

Nike has just dropped AB.

I think this could be a blessing in disguise- if that won't jolt him into cleaning up his act, nothing else will.
Like I said -- he would have saved himself a whole lot of money just paying the $1.6mil and no one ever finding out about any of this.

Probably. Mrs RW and I receive alerts when our kids post stuff to Instagram/FB, etc so it does take a minute or so to propagate. Then once we review it we'll text/call and say "not appropriate". That is anywhere between 2-5 minutes.

With that said, I can say our teenagers (13,15,17) have 10x the social media self-control/self-awareness than AB does and it didn't take too long to teach them.
That leads back to my question. It seems to me that regardless of your close attention to your kids' posting habits, it seems to me that even if they delete an inappropriate post almost immediately, the results often still remain out there if someone sees it. Right?

agreed, but apparently AB doesn't like to pay anybody.

His behavior is deplorable but i believe he didn’t rape this woman. I see it more as relationship that went sour and brown said some deplorable stuff but she’s no saint either. I see it as a wash and they deserve each other. Idk if brown will ever learn his lesson and be smarter after this.

Him paying would make him look guilty although some people just want that person off their back even if they didn’t do anything wrong.

That is dumb. No one in their right mind would just give someone $1.6m. Also if he did give her it there is nothing to say she wouldn't still be doing this. The $1.6m wasn't for this. It was for her buisness and her mom's property. If she was leeching for $1.6m and got it she would have tried to get more.

What was the statute of limitations issue? Is the statute only 2 years on rape in Florida...? That's nuts if so..

That's not the claim with the SOL issue. It's the flash and splash that have the SOL issue.

Yes.

I’m thinking 50%
He provided a tremendous banquet for his 50 friends and guests which is good.
He didn’t pay the caterers which is bad.

50%

PS....... Caterer charged per head.
50 guests
$50,000
$1000 per head
Must have been amazing shrimp ****tail.
Did the caterer not file suit (yet?) because he would have to justify the price?

Asking for a friend

Where did you get the $50,000 number?

Every story I saw had it at $38,521.20 for 3 days of meals. Not just "a banquet". And yes, he DID file suit. Google exists.

Let's be careful out there, Bjorn.

Payouts for silence are not unusual. Don't confuse my statement that I think it's necessarily just. When you are wealthy, and especially a celebrity, you are likely to be a target. The world is full of the quick buck schemers. But if you have millions to make off your name and your name will otherwise be monetarily wounded with scandalous allegations (true or not) there will be a 'bottom line consideration' that sometimes equals pay the money and forget about it.

In the words of a great man: "it is what it is"
