Week 2 thoughts around the NFL

Never trust a Jason Garrett coached team.

Replacing their OC improved the Cowboys offense by leaps and bounds though. They aren't calling plays like it's 1992 anymore.

Pot calling kettle black?? We are playing some of the worse Teams and the worse Team in the NFL Period twice.
The Steelers weren't one of the worst teams in the NFL until they ran headlong into us.

We make teams look bad. The Dolphins didn't need any help in that respect but the Steelers certainly did. If Ben really did get his injury against the Patriots, then what's happening in Pittsburgh is entirely the fault of our D

Elbow damage from throwing is now because of the Patriots? So it's the opponent's "fault" when a pitcher blows out his elbow?

Never get involved in a land war in Asia

but only slightly less well-known is this: "Never go in against a Sicilian when DEATH is on the line!

Big Ben wasn't healthy to begin with.

Also I might be wrong here but dont think Sony has broken a tackle this season? Very early but I only thought of it when someone on Twitter was wondering abt his play this year.

We all rooting for the Ravens this week? Ok good, glad we're on the same page.

Additionally, Lamar is starting to win me over after I had just sorta chalked him up as a poor man's Michael Vick. He looks like a different player this year and makes the rumors we were interested in him seem less ridiculous.

I’m rooting for the Chiefs.

With the talent and schedule the Pats have, they should be able to lock up the #1 seed barring major injuries. It’s just too early to tell regarding final expected record of other teams. I don’t think the Chiefs will win more than 12 games though...just a hunch based on that defense.

I’m just rooting against the team I hate more, which is clearly the Ravens.

I hope they tie.

Flying under the radar is the Lions. Undefeated. Matty P will surprise.

Found this on Reddit. Pretty interesting DVOA so far. About what we all knew, though:

Even being just 2 weeks in, that's a surprisingly handy visualization. It's worth noting that the two axes are at different scales, just to accommodate the Patriots' defense! At this early point, the Pats' defense, not the Chiefs' offense, is by far the biggest outlier unit in the NFL.

important to note is that these stats are not opponent adjusted until after week 4.

Yep, and for good reason...teams themselves get "opponent-adjusted" afresh each season. The Patriots adjusted the Steelers' expectations pretty dramatically week 1.
