the problem with putting AB on the exempt list is when would the NFL take him off? I'ts just a civil case and it would take a year at least in court if it goes to trial.

they wouldn't take him off this season. If AB goes on the exempt, his season is over.

Yea not too smart addressing only one of the stories, makes it look like the others are accurate. Plus, allegedly he is being sued over this. Making IG comments over a pending lawsuit is dumb.

Among others his agent certainly is and his lawyer sure ought to be as are his current employers and teammates. It defies reason he isn't getting that input from any of them. It's kind of surprising to me that Rosenhaus hasn't cut checks for some of those bills, most of what we've heard about doesn't add up to all that much in the grand scheme of things.

You would think Rosenhaus would have just paid all of these people out of his own pocket, ensuring that he makes 2% of Brown's next contract/endorsement deal.

Maybe Brown's advisers had no idea what a cheap stake he is?

Wouldn't be surprised to find out his legal team already has paperwork ready to file for injunctive relief based on "irreparable harm" due to contract incentives were that to happen. Absent criminal charges or the proverbial smoking gun it's hard to imagine the league opens that can of worms with CBA negotiations ongoing. But then again until it happened it would have been hard to imagine any league ignoring the laws of physics to suspend it's best player.

It most certainly does. Forcible rape is defined as intercourse without consent.
I checked 2 online legal dictionaries and I stand by my statement. Your definition is incomplete. If we are talking about the law, then forcible rape is defined as intercourse (or attempted intercourse) without consent accompanied with violence and/or threats of violence. Please note I am not saying that sex with a passed out woman isn’t rape. The question asked was “isn’t all rape forcible rape?” to which the response is “no.”

I wonder how long it was up on Instagram before the NEP social media watchdogs reached out to ABs social media people.

Over/under 5 minutes?

Dam this thread is like that Ugly X who refuse to go away.

Reached out? I'd go with the under.
Received an intelligible response? I'd go with never.

Don’t want to seek criminal charges.

Do want the boss (NFL) to validate the civil suit via suspension

This rots to high hell and I fear Roger and Co. will fall for this obvious strategy.

If the extent of your legal knowledge is two dictionaries, you need to look further....Not being snarky but
Let's check Federal Statues and the FBI definition..

An Updated Definition of Rape

Forcible rape” had been defined by the UCR SRS as “the carnal knowledge of a female, forcibly and against her will.” That definition, unchanged since 1927, was outdated and narrow. It only included forcible male penile penetration of a female vagina. The new definition is:

“The penetration, no matter how slight, of the vagina or anus with any body part or object, or oral penetration by a sex organ of another person, without the consent of the victim.”
Violence or threat of violence is not mentioned or required....

Honestly, AB is an absolute piece of garbage as a human being, we all know that and most of ust don't really care. SO, I don't want him suspended because he is an oustanding WR and this is all fascinating.

Honestly, a 6 game suspension would be fine with me. He can come back same time as Gronk. I'd rather them just suspend him now. We don't need AB to beat Jets/Bills/R-words/Giants/Jets again/Cleveland (next 6 games.)

What happens if Goodell suspends him and he wins the civil case?

I think most would take a suspension right now. But that's not how it goes unfortunately. Exempt list and after months on the exempt list additional suspension is likely.

That's why he would be put on the exempt to see where the civil case goes. Our problem is the investigation could stretch for several months so we wouldn't see him again.

We have to hope Goodell thinks the girl is talking bs and this thing dies down quickly.

Fraudger is an idiot but I'm thinking the & Co. is isn't going to shoot itself in the foot that badly. But hey...

The problem with civil cases is they usually don't get won or lost. It isn't like someone is going to jail or not. At some point people decide what the chances of winning or losing are, and what the costs of going forward are, and then decide to settle or not. IF they do get decided then juries decide on the punishment. If Antonio "loses" but has to pay her $100, did he really lose?

The exempt list isn't for punishment, it is to give the NFL time to figure out what is happening. It isn't happening here unless he is criminally charged with rape or something else. He might get suspended but Goodell can do that whenever he wants.

I am not a lawyer, but most of these reporters are just plain stupid.

Any suspension would be indefinite.
You really think the NFL would define “suspicion of rape......6 weeks” ?

What do you mean, most of us would take a suspension right now? I wouldn't.

Watch AB stiff his lawyers.

All hell will break loose.

In comparison to him not playing at all for the rest of the season. Of course I hope he doesn't receive a suspension nor gets put on the exempt.
