No, they'll meekly accept it the way they do everything else. Oh sure, you'll get some sort of official statement from DeMaurice Smith. That and $2.69 will get you a large cream and sugar at Dunkin'.
I can’t believe people really think there will be a lock out lol. NFLPA has no spine and has little to leverage.

10hrs?!?!? did she gave everyone a massage?

I read somewhere that Brown is due a bonus on Monday. Maybe, the Pats will
decide he isn't worth the bother and won't pay the bonus. This would also get the heat off Goodell.

That's the first installment of his signing bonus, not something else. About the only way the Patriots could get out of that would be to claim non-disclosure on AB's part. But, if that was the plan, they likely wouldn't still have him with the team.

The CBA does not place any obligation on the NFL to talk to the player before being put on the exempt list or even during the investigation. The only right the player has to be heard is that he has the right to a hearing before being suspended after the investigation is complete. (All according to SI's McCann.)

IMO it’s 80% chance he is put on exempt list. It’s about optics, not fairness or pursuit of the truth.

I agree as we have seen what they have done before

Britney is probably flying not First Class but Coach next to the bathroom on her way back home now.:D Even Roger could see through that Swiss cheese story.

Maybe but.

Where does it take place Moscow??

Thanks, we needed another AB thread.

NFL is going to go through the motions ...
AB needs to clean up what he can and avoid any new events.
I would absolutely pay off all vendors ... clean up all that stuff.
Deprive the media of new fuel ... too much media looking to get paid all the time.

QFT!

He definitely — both because it’ll be good PR and shows some evidence of remorse and because it’s simply the right thing to do — should start paying those people back (NE should insist on it, actually).

What’s he owe 100k in total?

Just pay it and move on the guy has made millions.

Wonder if he’s going to stiff AG and TB12

Yep ... because as long as he owes the media will keep swirling on that issue.

I take it as good news he didn’t pay because it appears he feels he’s innocent and she’ll lose. Why should you pay someone $2M if you feel you didn’t do anything? It may not be a lot to him, but it’s the principle - nobody wants to dish out money to people looking for handouts.

In addition, countersuing her could make her force her hand as I’m sure she can’t afford all these lawyer fees.

Her lawyers are doing it pro bono because of the massive publicity they get from working the case. Ultimately they'll settle, probably for a lot less money than $2 mill, but the longer it drags on and the less likely a huge payday looks, her lawyers may start to encourage her to make that deal since there are diminishing returns at some point

Could go a few ways

That dirtbag from The College of the Holy Cross is still working on another way to smear the team/fans from the area from where he learned his craft!

Is this true? If I’m Brown, I gladly give her a million bucks and force her to sign something that says the matter is closed and that she won’t talk about it with anyone.

I honestly haven’t even paid attention to how much she’s asking for. For some reason, I thought it was around 1.5m.

Manning's lawyers had the athletic trainer he ball-bagged sign an NDA saying she wouldn't talk about it or sue them again, and she sued them multiple times after that and got additional settlements

As well they should.

And so should the contractors he owes, and any suits brought against him as a result of unpaid debts.

For someone in his financial position to not pay contractors for projects he had them complete is really unethical.

It's a civil suit, and AB is filing suit ovet the initial claim, and likely will against the second one as well.

I refuse to take the female's stories seriously because of the number of shakedown/blackmail/hustle claims the past few years.

Considering when these claims showed up, I can more easily believe that these two women were paid to make the claims by folks from either Pittsburgh, Oakland, or possibly both as a way of trying to screw over the Patriots. Considering how New England has been treated recently, seems like the NFL would welcome such lies.

But it's a civil suit, and one has to ask, why did these women take almost 2 ears to bring tese claims? Why wait until he signs with the Patriots to come forward?

Let's wait and see how things shake out before blaming the new WR.

One common theme from what I have read that all these debts owed were verbal agreements where AB promised to promote whatever they were selling and didn’t.

It’s also not like these were huge bills for a multimillionaire.

There are two sides to every story.
