Monitoring Wynn injury situation (Placed on IR)

if this pains you so much, become a Jete fan...or better yet, a Ravens fan since you're all so gaa gaa goony about Dumar Jackson

Seems like we just keep swinging and missing in the draft over the past 5 years compared to our awesome drafts 2010-2014
Yea we've missed a lot but have gotten some gems also good undrafted guys. Plus, Bb always gets solid players in free agency.

20% of the league has lost their starting QB already. It's unfortunate our injuries are so concentrated on the OL, but on the whole we're only average.

It moved to two players in 2017 I think.
It's been 2 for longer than that. What changed in 2017 is that you no longer have to designate them for return when you put them on IR. Instead, you just simply put people on IR with no designation and you can then take any two players you want off it later.

(Important note: once they start practicing they are considered off IR for this purpose, even if they never actually come off IR.)

And even if he has an injury history, Belichick is does well taking such risks. Obviously there are more failures than successes. But that's what you get when you takes risks in the draft. Whenever we think that the patriots shouldn't draft players with injury histories, we should consider that Gronkowski had an injury history.

has he ever been injured? Don't think so. He seems to avoid hits and step out of bounds frequently.
Does a great job of that but where was all this Jackson love last year when I was the only one driving that bus ... Long before the media picked up on it.

If we passed and took someone with knee issues in college that continues to have knee issues in the pros, that's an actual conversation to have. Drafting someome that was 100% healthy and had been all through college, then acting like it was an OBVIOUS mistake once he gets hurt in the pros, you're not being real.

So what's the new draft strategy? Pass every time we're on the clock? Because apparently now it's a mistake to draft healthy players that may one day get injured.

Belichick really needs to add a precog physic to his staff. o_O

Not about that. It’s about when Brady retires, we have JAG stidham as our starter instead of super talent Lamar Jackson. NFL fans would be so jealous had we drafted a superstar to take over as Brady’s successor

SUPER TALENT!

It was NOT a botched report.

You need to understand the reporting.

Rapoport said he was told. It was hearsay.

It isn’t implied when he says “I’m told” that this is a credible source?! Every report is based on hearsay...that doesn’t mean being inaccurate gets a pass.

Alot of quick passes. Slants. Running the ball.

Week to week my ass. Gotta keep the old man upright. I don't like our backup tackles.

Shredding the Dolphins and looking good against Arizona = superstar

Apparently?

No if someone reports "sources said" that is directly from someone who knows.

If someone reports "I'm told" that means someone whispered in his ear who has heard, but is not a direct source.

In this age of quick reporting we need to understand the difference.

Can you guys start a Lamar Jackson *********** thread? Wtf is this?

How did Wynn go from a week to week toe injury to IR? Was the injury reported incorrectly?
Because they are about to announce that they traded for Trent Williams. Of course I’m speculating but it could be one of many possible reasons.

It really depends upon the grade. I suspect it is either grade 1 or 2, about 2 to 4 weeks. That’s a heck of a lot better than my initial fear, which was a Lisfranc fracture, which was my fear when I heard “foot”. Eagles interior DL has already been decimated by this injury at a rate of one per game.

Like I wrote this morning....I suspect grade 3 turf toe, IR designation, hopefully back after the bye.

There are reasons for putting a player on IR now, that were not there before, and we don't know the Patriots thinking on this. In a case like this, with turf toe being an injury that can linger if you keep on it, and a pretty weak schedule with only a couple teams that should be expected to give real pass rush problems, this could very well be a matter of being safe rather than sorry.

Is there anything that confirms this? A page on journalism on the internet? I don’t see anything from a google search.

Indeed. QBs look good when they play teams that have decided to skip having a defense.

Brady may play the entire length of Lamar's rookie contract. The timing would not have worked out unless you think Brady is retiring after this year or a 1st roind pick should sit for 5 seasons at which point his development would be tanked

The team has literally the beat depth in team history at four positional groupings: CB, LB, RB, and WR, and S and DL are not far off.

GTF out of here with draft kvetching. It’s unfortunate that five unforeseeable setbacks struck the same unit but that’s football.
