Eli Manning benched

I agree, though I'm admittedly slightly intrigued by the rookie.
SLIGHTLY ? Hahaha ! Anyone who has seen his outfits needs to be much more than "slightly intrigued". He is the dawg.

Actually the last rookie qb to beat us is Geno Smith believe it or not in 2013 week 7. Before that it was Colt McCoy and before that was Mark Sanchez. Most of the time rookies get blasted up against the pats though.

I'm annoyed at the timing as it pulls focus from how much the Jets sucked on the Joe Beningo show today.

The only guy to stop Brady? Stopped him twice at the peak of Brady's career? Yeah he'll get in. The storyline's too good.

I think you forgot Nick Foles. You know the guy who dropped 41 points on the Patriots.

Nick Foles also boasts an actual winning record as a starting QB! And has the 3rd highest single season QB rating, as well as 2nd for TD-int ratio in a season.

Seems like Nick Foles should get into the HOF over Eli.

If the Giants were smart, and I don't think they are, they would trade him to a team in need of QB. Get something at least. Pitt?
Eli is trash, he has negative value on that contract.

Eli is not a HOF QB. Well, sorta. He will get in, but he really shouldn't.
Here’s a hypothetical, is Flacco in if they hang onto one of those leads in the 2014 playoffs in Gillette? They crush the Colts and are a toss up to beat Seattle. Two rings and at least one SB MVP.

Eli is Joe Flacco
Eli is Trent Dilfer

The only real difference among the three is that Eli caught lightning in a bottle a second time.

The beginning of the end of Manning face ....

Russell Wilson too. Most of the time, teams with rook QBs are not good ones so it usually doesn’t go well for them.

???? Warner played 12 years.

Warner is in because he didn't go with the short career. Without his 3rd act, in Arizona, he's not in the HOF.
I stand corrected. Seemed shorter to me for some reason
Anyway for the record, I dont think Eli belongs in the HOF. I just can see how people could argue it had he retires in 2012

If Eli is a Hall of Fame QB based solely upon his playoff stats, Super Bowl wins and Super Bowl MVPs, then Julian Edelman is a Hall of Fame wide receiver using the same criteria.

If that paint chip eating, window licking, short bus riding autist gets in the HoF he should send a thank you to Tom Brady.

The only reasons he would garner serious consideration for the hall is his last name, and who he beat in the Super Bowl.

Tom Brady is literally so great, beating him at something elevates you far past where you’d normally be

The giants problems go beyond Eli

Indeed, NY football has nothing to hang its hat on other than Eli going back all the way to the Parcells/LT era.

Given how NY breeds mediots, he's a sure fire 1st ballot HOFer, even though in reality he's a mediocre quarterback who happened to have two Flacco like runs in the span of his career.

Conspiracy theory: Eli currently has a 116-116 record as a starter. He was benched to avoid finishing with a sub-.500 career record.

No I read the ignored posts every once in a while. Don't worry, you're still on my list.

Good for you! It's important to stretch and get out of that safe space from time to time.

It got Foles $88m. He should probably send Brady a basket of avocados.

This is terrible news. I was looking forward to facing Eli yet again. He might have a wining record against the Pats, so it was a chance to improve on that. Now it's the rookie phenom.

Looks like Tom is 2-3 versus old Eli. Shameful he doesn't get to even things up.
