Eli Manning benched

Perfect. A new QB with just enough tape for BB and Ernie Adams to find all his weaknesses and pound him into the ground in a few weeks.

In a number of ways I think Jones will be more of a challenge than Eli.

This is how Eli feels about this.

Just saw an article (sorry for lack of link) that says Eli is about to become the highest paid player in NFL history by career earnings. Lol.

Maybe they should have done this earlier... like around 2007.

Eli was the most schizophrenic QB I've ever seen. Outside his two Super Bowl runs he constantly alternated between fantastic and garbage from game to game, and it all averaged out to league average over his career in both passer rating and win %. The dude never made sense to me as a player honestly. But he's the only Giant Patriots killer in an era we've completely owned.

And Two Super Bowl rings to his credit against the Patriots thanks to Butterfingers Asante Samuel and Wes Welker.

He made some clutch throws against us but got lucky on a dropped interception plus his defense was playing lights out.

Those runs do make it arguable. Hes just hung on for too long. Kurt Warner made it with a short run. If he kept playing and kept declining and loosing then his legacy might have made a hall of fame questionable too
The Pats have gazillions of players with 2 or more rings yet Ellie the QB who has sucked most seasons deserves a HOF ceremony?
The entire HOF voting mindset is fuc*ed

Actually thanks to his guarantees he already is. And the guy he just passed has the same last name ;)

NFL Player Earnings

Eli Manning has never won a playoff game outside 2007 and 2011. Let that marinate. His teams have averaged 19 ppg in the postseason. He won two SB MVP awards with a combined point total of 38 points, whereas Nick Foles had 41 in one game.

He has four pro bowl selections in about 15 seasons. Andy Dalton makes it more often. He has never received an all-pro or MVP vote.

Those career passing rankings for total yards, TDs, etc. may look a lot different when he retires and others pass him.

To put him in the Hall is just double dipping. He’s lucky as fck to have two SBs and two SB MVPs. That should be more than enough for accolades. Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Roethlisberger, Rivers, Ryan, and Wilson are way, way more deserving for the hall. It would be a hard choice between Mahomes and Eli if Mahomes retired tomorrow. Neither are worthy, but if I had to pick one, Mahomes actually played at a Hall of Fame level for a year. Eli has never come close.

Who was the last rookie qb who beat the pats? Was it roethlisberger?!

116-116 regular season record ..and some feel he is a hall of famer? please

My thought is that it was a tale of 2 "penalties". That missed call on a hold on Seymour and Ninko being offsides. Darn it.

It's a storyline induction, Eli's stats won't matter any more than Joe Namath's did. The 2 time "Patriot Killer" is going to coast to a gold jacket IMO.

Judged on his whole body of work he'd be the worst QB in Canton once you factor in the pass-happy era he played in. But I don't think it will matter.

I'm saying what I think WILL happen, not what I think SHOULD happen by the way.

Eli is not a HOF QB. Well, sorta. He will get in, but he really shouldn't.

Joe Namath was worthy of the Hall and played at an elite level for many years. People misinterpret his high amount of interceptions and stats in general. It’s all about the norms of his time, and he was very good.

He’ll get in because he’s a Manning and plays for the mist obnoxious media market in the country.

???? Warner played 12 years.

Warner is in because he didn't go with the short career. Without his 3rd act, in Arizona, he's not in the HOF.
