Per Mike Reiss twitter - some interesting numbers:

Jason McCourty led the defense with 81% of the snaps. Good idea to rotate on defense in the heat.
Marshall Newhouse played every snap. I expected K. Cunningham to start, based on his time with the team.
Wynn went out after 17 snaps. For some reason it seemed later in the game.
Joe Thuney was down in the game as well and missed 6 snaps. The offensive line is having a rough year.
Matt Lacrosse played 58% of the snaps.
Bennett 40% and Antonio Brown 33%.

Link please

Marshall Newhouse is a career backup who has sucked everywhere whenever he played a significant amount of snaps. Even if Cunningham takes over LT after Cannon comes back, we should be praying that Wynn comes back soon.

I kind of liked some things I saw from Newhouse. Nothing sophisticated, just a couple of times dumping his opponent on his butt (school of Trent Brown).

Last week @PP2 opened our weekly rewatch threads, I thought I should return the favour since there is already some stuff trickling in on the web.

First as gathered by @UptownPatsFan the snap counts documented for anyone who at some point in the future wants to go back and check up on them:

Lazar pointed out that Elandon Roberts seems to be a core ST player now.

Has he ever had Dante coaching him? That dude can turn vinegar into sweet tea.

Thanks @luuked

Even though I predicted an immediate impact for AB, I still was impressed with how much of the playbook he mastered in such a short time. He was all over in terms of formation, both inside and outside, ran crossers, seam routes, fades, slants, etc.

I think the only thing that could be worked on is timing and the finer details of the game, which I think is a new experience for AB because Roethlisberger never paid attention to all the small things that Brady does, leverage, shading, coverage alignment, etc.

This could have easily been a 2 TD, 100 yard game for him if not for the misfires later in the game when I think Brady gave AB a little more than he could handle for a first game.

I'm curious as to how many of the defensive snaps of Wino and Cowert were when the game was still competitive.

We were predominately in 11 personnel, which surprised me. I was thinking more 10, but it may have been out of consideration for how weak our OL was.

But no reason not to do more and more of 10 because that forces single coverage on one or more of the following: Gordon, AB, Edelman, or Dorsett. You have your best corner or a bracket on AB and a #1 or #2 on Edelman by default, which leaves a bad matchup for either Dorsett or Gordon.

Why was this thread merged with the snap count thread? Those two threads have nothing to do with one another.

The all-22 is a standalone thread. Mods, please restore the all-22 thread.

If anything the snap count thread should have been merged into this one.

I found it interesting that Brooks is getting work at SS.

Sad that Bill, McD & Brady felt compelled to feed the bottomless pit that is the ego of this sleazy, out of control narcissist, by throwing to him so often ahead of players who truly deserve those targets.

Can we please trade Clowntonio for a TE, LT or at least a competent backup Center? We need players at those positions more - Much more - than we need him at WR.

(Started this last night)
Really like a few play designs we used this game. Pats are notorious for attacking different ways from the same formation, same look/different feature etc. Few different runs. I'll post video after work
1st drive
Lead/iso

Brown ripping through zone w crosser

Fake ho. Around the 11 w Dev in Motion? Looks like IZ look? Really like how White could've been an effective blocker downfield. Great seal by 76.

Brown out

Motion w fake around. Split Z/IZ?
Wynn shows quicks to 2nd level & just moves his man back 5 yards. He was vg on the 1st drive.

Brown in/comeback

Iso power reminds me in a way of BOB GL Iso

Game pass sux. Needs to get its **** together. Again tried last night but it was acting up & not working now.
