Monitoring Wynn injury situation (Placed on IR)

He had no prior injury history at UGA. The Achilles situation last season was the first major injury of his career.

Methinks you have no idea what you’re talking about and are making things up.

Look at my sig. He’s a joke.

.

I'm hoping Trent Williams really likes his old helmet too.

Given it happened and he came back out...I'm hoping it was precautionary. Seemed like we were limiting injury possibilities late (Gilmore on sideline, Sony on sidelines with Dev). Many may think I'm crazy, but losing Dev in the 4th quarter of the 4th preseason game drastically changed our season before it started the year we lost to Philly...

I remember posting early in BB's career about how many OTs they used. For like the first 6 or 8 years of his tenure, they HAD to use 4 OTs because of injuries.. And no. It wasn't just "odd years".

I’m hoping nothing too serious, we definitely need him to stay healthy.

Especially after grabbing some of our flexibility to have Brown with like 5M of dead cap hit next year I am not sure there is any space to get him. Especially if you want to keep some of the current starters that are going into FA.

They have between 26-46M in cap space for next season depending on what they do with Brown. I think we both can agree it's unlikely the Pats pick up his option at $20M. So it's a 4.75M cap hit., but still another 20M in Cap Space =$46M. Granted, that is without Brady having an actual salary.

Still, 26M is plenty to play with.

Wynn was back out on the sidelines? I missed that..

There are couple of FAs coming up. Not the time to borrow against the future to fit Williams in this year as well as his big payday next year.

Trading for him would negate most of the upsides for drafting Wynn. You invest 2 first round picks (1 is Wynn, the other for the trade) AND you have to pay semi-market money. That is just not how they build the roster.

I don't see a scenario where this happens.

This is the most important thread of the week.

And yet they ruled him out pretty quickly. So there’s something there.
Maybe they decidedthey didn't need him considering how the lolfhins were playing.

Not worried we have Dante

Sorry, Luuked, but Washington isn't getting a 1st from anyone for Williams. It was already debunked that the Patriots supposedly offered that up in the off-season.

I wouldn't call a 12.5M salary a "big pay day" considering what other Starting Tackles have signed for recently. Yes, the 12.5M would hamper the Patriots some, but people didn't think they could free up money this year yet they did.

And I said a 3rd round pick in my scenario to Ashley. Next, it doesn't negate anything if Wynn is out for an extended period.. The injury did that.

The Patriots have pushed money into the future previously. Hell, they did it to sign Antonio Brown. That's how they have 24.75M tied up in him next year if they pick up his option or 4.75M if they don't.

The kid is talented. But availability is more important than ability.

I thought the replacement OTs were okay, give them some time with Scar and we should be okay. I’m hoping it’s nothing to serious.

Even if they chose to do this, how would they afford to pay him?

Well, they renegotiate his contract regarding the remaining 9.57M he's owed this year by adding a couple of years at the end of the contract.

You'd also need to do the same for Dmac to lower his cap hit and free up money..
