“I’m surprised that it took them this long to figure him out. Because he’s been this way since he’s been 12 years old.’’

Soooo...the stepdad who "helped raise Brown in Miami-Dade County in Florida between the ages of 5 and 17" is saying that seven freakin years into his watch this behavior started manifesting itself? Helluva role model that guy was

Thing is, unless this girl brings evidence I dont see how Goodell can suspend brown on mere he said she said stuff. And what happens if the lawsuit gets dismissed?

I mean they are going to talk to her whom is going to say essentially what she said in the lawsuit and then talk to brown who is going to deny it. Really dont get the endgame here.

Are they going to ask her to make a sworn testimony? Will she be held liable if it turns out to be false?

That’s what i’m thinking. It could be a wash between the two. Again if those videos are after her alleged rape where she screamed no after brown forced himself upon her she will look bad. Rape is something that affects you mentally and emotionally. It’s horrible and again a serious accusation. Brown was wrong with the texts he send after the relationship got sour but this woman has always said their relationship was professional which was a lie.

Moss says he helped raise Brown in Miami-Dade County in Florida between the ages of 5 and 17, and traced his troubles back to his childhood

Guy hasn't been in his life for nearly 15 years.

There is also this

Brown's mother remarried when Antonio was 12, he and his stepfather apparently didn’t get along, and when things didn’t improved Adrianne kicked Antonio from the house.

Not sure the guy Brown didn't get along with and was part of the reason Brown got kicked out of his house and hasn't had contact with in almost 15 years is the best source.
Not to mention the actual comment was “he thinks he can get whatever he wants so this doesn’t surprise me” which is miles away from “he has abused women so I’m not surprised”

A lot of jealousy now that he’s on the patriots. People hate the patriots, they don’t want us to win number 7.

Slippery slope. From the standpoint of if the woman were assaulted and out of fear (of repeated abuse or retribution as well as shame, doubting she will be believed, etc) you have to make it comfortable and unobtrusive for her to speak up. However that facilitates the money grabbers to have an easy time.

What is best in a false accusation situation isn’t what’s best in a rice, Josh brown type case.

Cooks is great at things he does when put in positions where he is very comfortable. In most things through the MOF he doesn't.

That is just not worth a market value deal imo.

Cooks is great, as long as he has no physical contact or has to make a contested catch.

I am just pointing out that her lawyer is saying she passed a polygraph etc. She should have no problems making a sworn testimony and then held liable for libel charges if the accusations are false.

I understand that. I’m saying putting a burden on the accuser has drawbacks as well.

The sharks are circling.

Now we got abusive stepfathers who haven’t been in the life of Brown for decades out in the media looking for a cheap headline to drag him down even more.

I look forward to when this accusation gets thrown out of court and the media simply buries their head in the sand and pretends it never happened.

That might be a little hyperbolic. I think Cooks' position on the depth chart here could be that low, but it could also be as high as WR2. Competitions play out for a reason and we'll never know what would have actually happened.

Maybe if Gordon goes on a bender and AB takes a walk in the snow... :D

Gordon with no training camp, out of shape, and not entirely mentally stable, put up numbers equivalent to Cooks(pro-rated for the games he played)

Lawyers tend to say a lot of things that aren't always true and spin things.........Polygraphs are unreliable which is why they are NOT admissible in court and if you have the right medications on board, you can trick a polygraph.....
It also depends on the person administering the test and the questions asked...

Drugs That Affect a Lie Detector Test | Livestrong.com

Here's a thought which others have raised. A new CBA negotiation is coming up soon and Goodell would obviously prefer smooth negotiations over a strike or lockout. Suppose he is taking the track of benevolent dictator in hopes that the NFLPA won't remember the arbitrariness of Article 46. That would explain Hill's non punishment and Gordon being reinstated when many thought he would be out most of the season... If that is the case, putting Brown on the exempt list for an accusation is contrary to that policy and likely to set a bad precedent as others have noted.
This way he can say," see I'm not so bad a guy, let's keep things the way they are and extend the CBA".. Fool me once.....

Well the CBA will be changing, it's just a question of how much. If the players are smart, the Commissioner's dictator-like abilities go way down.

I don't deny that Goodell COULD exempt him and suspend him, but he'd have a hard case to make based on the Tyreek Hill whitewash just last month. Once you get passed the bat **** crazy of AB, Hill's past is just sordid.

BTW- I hope that Goodel isn't just going to meet with the accuser, and then make a decision. Isn't that kind of getting one side of the story?

In most of these cases, Goodell does not meet with anyone outside of football. The only one I can think of was Ray Rice's wife. The league has thier own criminal investigators who they ask to investigate and meet with cops, and the parties involved. They present the findings to Roger and he then meets with the player and hands out his decision.

I don't think her lawyers are going to let her perform a lie detector test, as that would most likely contradict some results of the test they paid for. Unless she was being 100% truthful and had it videotaped like it was a criminal event.

read the complaint again...she said she passed out at a stop light after the alleged rape. I wonder what was the significance of putting this in the complaint? Do they fear there might be traffic surveillance video and they are trying to get ahead of it. People might assume she was passed out from drinking.
Same with going back to his house the next day after the rape to pick up belongings. First of all ,what could the belongings be that were so important? I believe she stated in the complaint that on the night of the alleged rape she went in quickly to use the bathroom?..and to get something to eat. Are they again afraid there might be video of her going back the very next day and people would question why.

Gordon is a fantastic player, and might be my favorite on the team. I don't have any intention of knocking him. I celebrated heavily when we traded for him. That being said, I don't see why this whole board feels the need to hate on Cooks because he got a concussion in the Super Bowl. He's a legit WR1 who hasn't made the most of his 2 Super Bowl opportunities and is playing better football outside of New England. It's probably for the best we don't have him, but the universal lack of appreciation for a guy who gave us a 1k yard season and a game winning TD on this board is ridiculous.

The significance of her claiming to have passed out for hours at a stop light is to explain why she didn’t return to hotel until the next morning, which her key card recorded.
