OT: Was Manningham's catch in SB 46 the correct call?

2011 Pats were lucky to even be there. Beat zero winning teams in the regular season, drew the Tebow Broncos in the divisional round and barely beat the Ravens in the AFCCG thanks to Cundiff’s miss.

The reigning champs would have clobbered them and the Giants too.

I don't know GM, if Brady would have caught his own pass like Gisele said he could then that would have been the play to make.

They tried having Brady catch a pass in SB52... it didn't work out any better :D

If I remember correctly, Ms Bündchen eloquently stated “my husband cannot fvvcking throw and catch the ball”....
She was pissed @ Welkers butterfingers.

While the 2011 Pats had some obvious defensive deficiencies their offense was one of their best ever and their overall point differential of 171 was by far the best in the AFC that year. From week 10 through the first round of the playoffs they averaged somewhere around 37 points a game. Not one of their better all around teams but certainly worthy of winning it all and probably would have if Gronk had not been hurt in AFCCG. Brady getting hurt mid game did not help either.

Regarding the drops - it was more then just Welker. I believe Aaron Hernandez also had a couple big drops including on the last desperation drive. (have never re-watched that game so I concede my memory may be inaccurate in spots)

I know but it was the inference that he could....have you not seen his instagram throwing to himself?

Never thought id reach the point where I could watch 42 and 46 and not even cringe that much, but 3 more rings made it alot easier :) completely over it.

And yes it was a catch. Wasnt a fluke either unlike the tyree one and seahawks catch right before Butler’s pick, it was a fantastic play.

I think in that moment she was Mrs Brady a touch more than she was Ms Bündchen. That's the problem with an individual that's got the aka thing going on, it's not always easy for us plebes to nail it down

I guess I’ve never inferred that at all from her comment- I’ve always thought she was simply upset that the NY fans were taunting her about Toms play, and she responded that he couldn’t throw and catch-as in “He can’t do everything!!”- implying that he was doing his job, and other people needed to do theirs.. that the loss wasn’t just his fault.
I don’t see the relevance of a recent Instagram post to this though. o_O

Does this thread feel like a kick in the ****?

Why yes it does.

I only watched that game once, but I recall the entire WR group got a terrible case of butter fingers in the final minutes of the game. Figures the Hail Mary lands like three feet from Gronk, who is unable to even to do anything.

Ms Bunchden is awesome though, seriously. I was so annoyed people were blaming the SB drought on her when she’s getting that fired up.

Yes he caught the ball wtf where'd this come from? Go away

Perhaps they still would have lost...the 96' Packers were one of the best teams ever and the Pats just didn't match up that year.
The KO return was the turning point in the game.

NE went from down by 6 to down by 13.
