For once Goodell actually made the right call and obeyed the terms of his own CBA, so that's neat.

Having said said, is anyone here going to be surprised if/when he conducts a pair of quick interviews, declares the "initial investigation" complete or some other such ********, and then places AB on the exempt list in a week or two? Because I'm fully expecting that.

Goodell's decisionmaking is driven entirely by what will make him look good, and he knows nobody outside New England wants AB on the Pats.

Goodell is allowed to suspend Brown. More accurately, for once he stuck to the spirit of the agreement for once rather than exploiting a loophole that voids the section right next to it, which is supposed to be reserved for extraordinary cases.

I am with you. I fully expect Brown to be put on the Exempt List and essentially suspended after the league talks to the accuser, followed by a 6 game suspension. I just hope the investigation concludes quickly so this will make him available for the remainder of the season.

Goodell will likely jump at this opportunity to suspend Brown. All he needs to do is say he believes the accuser, and the public already hates Brown and wants to see him punished for a variety of reasons. He’ll score big points with everyone. The only chance Brown has is if Goodell decides to use this an opportunity to extend an olive branch to the NFLPA and pretend like he isn’t a backstabbing sack of **** by honoring the spirit of the CBA and the way previous NFL commissioners and other sports commissioners would honor their agreements rather than exploiting every loophole. This is only a possibility because the timing of this, with both sides hoping to avoid a work stoppage.

You’re right: if anyone thinks this has anything to do with Brown’s accuser’s credibility, they haven’t been paying attention to Goodell.

Antonio Brown’s Stepfather Says Patriots’ WR Is ‘Very Abusive To Women’

“I can’t tell you that he did what they said he did,” Moss told USA TODAY Sports. “But I know he’s very abusive to women. “As far as just raping somebody, (Brown) just feels like he can have whatever he wants. He’s just empowered that way. So it doesn’t surprise me that this kind of allegation came out about him.”

you know this is the step father that Brown ran away from home from and NEVER had a relationship with. The kid (at the time) lived in cars and on friends couches for a couple YEARS before he went to college. The man who drove him from his home. So he can say this about him, a man who hasn't had any contact with since AB was in HS.

NOT the greatest source

Moss says he helped raise Brown in Miami-Dade County in Florida between the ages of 5 and 17, and traced his troubles back to his childhood

Guy hasn't been in his life for nearly 15 years.

There is also this

Brown's mother remarried when Antonio was 12, he and his stepfather apparently didn’t get along, and when things didn’t improved Adrianne kicked Antonio from the house.

Not sure the guy Brown didn't get along with and was part of the reason Brown got kicked out of his house and hasn't had contact with in almost 15 years is the best source.

Don't forget Larry Moss Jr (criminal) also physically abused the mother ...

the guy has no credibility.

I don't deny that Goodell COULD exempt him and suspend him, but he'd have a hard case to make based on the Tyreek Hill whitewash just last month. Once you get passed the bat **** crazy of AB, Hill's past is just sordid.

BTW- I hope that Goodel isn't just going to meet with the accuser, and then make a decision. Isn't that kind of getting one side of the story?

The NFL has no business in a non factual ... non criminal case.

Big difference, though, is that Tyreek Hill’s wife/gf? didn’t want to bury him since his income will directly effect her. Brown’s accuser is actively trying to bury him and is probably doing everything imaginable to help the league suspend him.

Being a reporter is sometimes a scammy business. Josh Peters is someone I will never read again. Some sources are just beyond the pale that those who must associate with them are bound to lose all credibility.
So you interviewed someone who claims he raised the boy from 5 years to 17, but this same person is saying AB is a terrible person based on his childhood and upbringing. I wonder whose fault that was.

Now AB's stepdad has entered the flap fray. What's next, Antonio's third-grade teacher?

I mean, we've already heard the plaintive crying in the media about a speeding ticket so...I think we've passed 3rd grade teacher at this point.

That said, they'll probably be out soon, talking about how he didn't spend enough time paying attention during fractions.

Well said: pot calling kettle black in step dads case. I am sure Step Dad gave USA Today that full of crap story for free. You know the old saying everybody wants to get in the act.

If we are going that far back how about the Doctor - nurse or midwife that birth him. Even then the writing was on the wall they could tell he be a rapist and play for the New England Rapepriots *according to Chiefs fans*.

The Queefs of Errorhead?

From the evidence gathered thus far I mean. From what we know. Some posters have said she's unreliable. Others have said AB did it.
I didn't realize there were so many legal experts on the forum, lol.

Also, who has said AB did it?

Thing is, unless this girl brings evidence I dont see how Goodell can suspend brown on mere he said she said stuff. And what happens if the lawsuit gets dismissed?

I mean they are going to talk to her whom is going to say essentially what she said in the lawsuit and then talk to brown who is going to deny it. Really dont get the endgame here.

Did what? What's going on?

Sorry I took a nap.

This is a horrible thing for a step dad to say publicly from when he was a kid.

If he were deposed or speaking to law enforcement privately ok.

But this clown puts it out in the media.

Guy is a jerk even if true.
