For once Goodell actually made the right call and obeyed the terms of his own CBA, so that's neat.

Having said said, is anyone here going to be surprised if/when he conducts a pair of quick interviews, declares the "initial investigation" complete or some other such ********, and then places AB on the exempt list in a week or two? Because I'm fully expecting that.

Goodell's decisionmaking is driven entirely by what will make him look good, and he knows nobody outside New England wants AB on the Pats.

That might be a little hyperbolic. I think Cooks' position on the depth chart here could be that low, but it could also be as high as WR2. Competitions play out for a reason and we'll never know what would have actually happened.
Of course. I'm a Cooks supporter but I don't think hes the playmaker AB and Josh are and in terms of value in this offense is not on the same level as as JE

You sound like Randolph Duke

Hah anything closely resembling on field football is close enough to on topic at this point.
Yep.

I'm so done with the AB news but angry about it at the same time. Rather than battle with fellow Patsfans on the topic I go to Chiefs Planet.:p

Listening to BB's daily press conference makes me think he believes AB will be cleared.

He is happily answering questions about AB's progress and practicing without any annoyance - not something he would do if he knew he had a huge headache coming IMO.

Oh, for sure. No way he passes AB on the depth chart. But I think it's at least a conversation with Gordon/JE.

Their numbers may be similar but, don’t trust Cooks to get open when we need a play.

Hope you've got a healthy supply of cranial condoms, that place is hazardous to your mental health

Well she would be more believable and get more of a "benefit of the doubt" if her behavior was not questionable and unreasonable for a woman who was previously assaulted by Brown.

Criminal charges were not brought.
She was willing to be quiet about it and expose more women to his violent behavior if she got paid.
It happened over a period of time and each time for it to happen it took place after a build up to it.
She said they had a professional relationship only and thier is video of them in bed in there underwear.
She said she went back to his hotel room and got raped, I don't think a girl who got sexually assaulted twice by a person in the past would ever go to his room with him. Sorry, I just can't put my hands around such behavior as believable.
I was watching the Linda Lovelace movie last night with my wife, a social worker. At one point I got mad at Linda and said she was responsible for her actions, for not running away from her abusive husband, to which my wife told me to STFU because I didn't know what I was talking about.

It seems that many male posters here can't understand how these things can happen simply because our brains aren't wired the same as women that undergo these conditions.

I don't know what happened, what is true or not, and although my gut tells me her story doesn't seem credible, the fact is we just don't know. The truth is probably somewhere in between with both parties exaggerating their versions. There certainly isn't enough evidence to outright convict AB or suspend him based on what we know so far.

I don't think so. If he did this then it will get resolved in court and action can be taken then. If the NFL does investigate and there is compelling evidence he did something that warrants it they will do something but I think it will need real evidence.

The media has seen the video and knows what is up potentially but they can't say it because of the backlash they risk. I expect this to kind of just go away as far as the press and NFL are concerned. The NFL does not want to put their players under even more pressure that they can be extorted so easily and if they put him on the list based on what I have seen now, they just drew a bulls-eye on every player. Remember the arrest of Edelman.

This is not a defense of AB who is a jerk but a defense of rights and if rights are taken away, even from a jerk, they are taken from all.

I need to see a review of the cum possibly hitting the back to see if it makes contact.
Maybe it was more of a "back shoulder"

Goodell will just call David Wells. “After the conclusion of this obvious witch hunt, we believe it’s more likely than not”

Any league that will lie about certain principles of physics in order to screw your team. I don’t trust the league

I didn't know the league consulted former Yankees pitchers to assist in their investigations.

They've built a brand. Brown has just further cemented that he is a jack ***.
By posting him working out at his new quarterback's training facility?

I just understand his texts in a different way than you. It seems to me he's taunting her. I wonder why he would taunt her if it was consensual. If I were to speculate, it happened, and he is making fun of her for complaining. Doesn't mean he raped her. But he's certainly taunting her.

I've repeatedly said that the claims of having a letter from him promising no more sexual advances is both crazy and stupid on his part. Think about signing a letter like that. Dumb.

Got a link to that letter?
We have seen the vids showing her to be a liar, so I would need to see a copy of this letter.

Yea, like they said "my bad" after 20 something scientists proved footballs lose air naturally.:p

Seriously tho, you'd think they'd extend him the same courtesy.
Someone say courtesy? Somehow with all the sordid details, this seems appropriate...
