I don't think it's bad to hope he's innocent and is able to play and eventually beat the case. It's bad if you prefer rape to go unpunished so you can enjoy football more.

What's even worse is to accuse a man of rape (if it's not true), taking away his livelihood and forever tarnishing his reputation. For his sake, hopefully it's not true.

No one (on this forum) said it's okay to judge and condemn Brown based on an accusation alone. I'd like to see the same standard applied to Taylor, too.

She is not being judged based upon an accusation alone. She's being judged based upon the contents of HER filing, the pics/videos that exist, and the dubious situation with her "gym". You know that, because you've been following the thread. So why are you pretending that such is not the case?

Why is this even "news"? It was common knowledge that the league wasn't going to do anything before finishing their "investigation", which includes meeting with BOTH the "victim" and AB. Neither of those 2 meetings are even scheduled at this point so WTF is this being reported with the same urgency as the attack on Pearl Harbor! With every NFL beat guy racing to get this "factoid" on the net. Something EVERYONE who has followed this story has known since Tuesday. RIDICULOUS.

I am just saying it is fair to question her when she said they had a strictly professional relationship when based on the videos floating around that looks to be a lie.
And her "Gym" in the middle of nowhere. Or the repeat visits to the alleged perp.

Yeah, she is rock solid.

My gut feeling was that the Patriots might just cut bait on AB quickly, or that the league would see this as an easy PR win against a guy multiple teams and fanbases are mad for unrelated reasons, and hammer AB immediately. Shows what I know lol.

It makes sense from a CYA point of view for Goodell to do his little investigation first, at which point he can do whatever he wants and claim "due diligence" and all that. For all that's worth (see deflategate for details.)

This won’t be handled like Deflategate. Deflategate was an absurd issue involving paranoia, resentment, and power plays between the owners themselves.

This is an owner-player issue, which is central to the CBA and in the midst of an upcoming negotiation. The NFL needs to weigh how it will impact the NFLPA relations along with public relations.

That detail specifically raises questions about her credibility, I 100% agree. My hunch is that the claims of assault/abuse are fabricated or embellished, based on what evidence we have thus far.

But it's far from conclusive. Someone can be a liar in one instance and not in another. But for the purposes of resolving the suit, that detail really undermines her credibility, absolutely. Her case looks far from strong.

But one could argue that Brown isn't exactly the most upstanding, credible figure, either.

Which is why it's always best to wait for the entirety of evidence to be collected, IMO.

Am I a bad person for being "happy" AB will most likely play on Sunday?
I’m indifferent about his freedom to play Sunday though I hope Brady feeds him for a full 60.

I am giddy that I will get to see more media shrieking because of it.
Watching these clowns perform their virtue signaling schtick is pure entertainment for me. Better than the disorganized contests themselves.
Nothing more entertaining than getting morality lessons from Michael Irvin types.
I’m just saddened AB has had a clean 48 hours giving mediots no more ammo as they beat this dead horse 24/7

I need to see a review of the cum possibly hitting the back to see if it makes contact.

It depends if it’s an “egregious” error in the final minutes. Otherwise there is no replay review.

Well she would be more believable and get more of a "benefit of the doubt" if her behavior was not questionable and unreasonable for a woman who was previously assaulted by Brown.

Criminal charges were not brought.
She was willing to be quiet about it and expose more women to his violent behavior if she got paid.
It happened over a period of time and each time for it to happen it took place after a build up to it.
She said they had a professional relationship only and thier is video of them in bed in there underwear.
She said she went back to his hotel room and got raped, I don't think a girl who got sexually assaulted twice by a person in the past would ever go to his room with him. Sorry, I just can't put my hands around such behavior as believable.

I posted this several days ago and I could be wrong ( ask my wife ;)) but I think with all this AB talk/distraction/accusation, the main beneficiary is Josh Gordon , in the sense that he can fade into the background and isn't the media center of attention and he can hopefully straighten out his life with less of a spotlight on himself... If Josh can just play football and work on his life day to day while the media are in a tizzy elsewhere, it can't hurt....

For any legal experts on here, do you think there is enough evidence for a D.A. to charge A.B?

Charge him with what? There are no criminal charges being filed by the "alleged" victim. She wont file them since she will go to jail for lying.

We don't know what all the evidence is, at that point, so how can we answer your question?

IMO Brown is safe until November 16th when I fully expect him to be arrested as he debarks the plane in Philly.

Can’t the DA bring charges against him without her consent since she states she was sexually assaulted?

From the evidence gathered thus far I mean. From what we know. Some posters have said she's unreliable. Others have said AB did it.

League got it right. Right now the only thing we know is that Brown has been accused of rape. Once that accusation passes SOME kind of standard of proof THEN the league should get involved. But before the evidence is in? No. Never.
