Good. I did not like the AB signing but to punish someone based on this unsworn civil suit that has elements which have already been shown as questionable by video evidence would be a bad situation. Again look what happened with Edelman when he was arrested for indecent assault and battery. It took a few weeks to get the video and for it to come out it was all fake. Should he have been put on the list?

The only actual requirement to file a civil action is to pay a filing fee which amount to a few hundred dollars. It would be absurd to use this, standing alone, as a basis to punish anyone.

Unless, of course, you buy into the circular reasoning of "we believe survivors."

It's ugly. I'm sure it shaped the way he is now.

With that said he is responsible for his actions and has the opportunity to control his behavior

Antonio Brown's tragic real-life story

Yeah, I guess he's in control. I don't know. Maybe?

I really can't fathom how hard it would be to behave in a responsible, ethical, high-character manner if you had no example to follow from family, peers, educators, etc. And if you don't have a quality education to teach you how to think critically and develop a robust moral/ethical compass, that makes it nearly impossible.

I feel bad for Brown, honestly. If you have no example/concept from real people in your life as to how to conduct oneself, I'd imagine it's extremely hard to model oneself in that way. That said, it's not like he's doing particularly poorly for himself professionally.

He seems to be a product of institutional failures at nearly every level: family, education, and faith (as that also seems relevant to him).

Basic logic and precedent suggest there is no way in hell he should be put on the exempt list for a seemingly flimsy civil suit.

Go get 200 yds Sunday, AB.

I don't get the "stop victim shaming!!" stuff if you even consider AB may not have done anything wrong. Why is okay to judge and condemn AB but it's not okay to ask any questions about the woman's timeline, relationships, or motives?

The whole idea of "victim shaming" presumes a victim.

.

And after he was handcuffed and frog-walked on live tv from his home by a team of FBI agents.

What the hell are you arguing????????????

.

All I said was that Kraft did not lose the right to be critical of Brown and to punish Brown for conduct he may deem detriment , just because he got busted paying a 40 year old woman for sex.

Who knows with him.

No one (on this forum) said it's okay to judge and condemn Brown based on an accusation alone. I'd like to see the same standard applied to Taylor, too.

Personally I am glad there isn't video evidence of accusations against Brown for anyone to see....No one wants to see a guy bust a nut behind his girlfriend anyway even if it did happen....

Am I a bad person for being "happy" AB will most likely play on Sunday?

I am just saying it is fair to question her when she said they had a strictly professional relationship when based on the videos floating around that looks to be a lie.

You should be happy the NFL is not going down the slippery slope/knee-jerk reaction of suspending players without criminal charges being filed and allowing a he said/she said civil suit impacting a player's right to earn a living.

Where was all this crap when he was a F*****g Steeler or a Raider?

Did you read the article though?

That is a lot of contextual information about Brown...it’s definitely worth the read. The headline is somewhat sensationalist, but it’s well-researched and includes discussions with a lot of people who knew about his family life.

You can’t dismiss everything in the article. He’s a very troubled guy...he has clearly always had off-field behavioral issues ever since adolescence. I’m not making excuses for the guy because we all need to own our actions, but it’s interesting nonetheless to understand the dysfunctional mess he grew up in.

I don't think it's bad to hope he's innocent and is able to play and eventually beat the case. It's bad if you prefer rape to go unpunished so you can enjoy football more.

Well women never lie, duh.

Of course women lie. Everyone, from every walk of life, lies.

The point is that when someone tells us something, we should listen, take them seriously, and not immediately question their credibility and character. This goes for both the accused and the accuser.

Once we have a robust set of evidence and facts, then we can begin to make more significant judgments.

When someone claims they were abused as a child at the hands of a religious figure we take their claim seriously and don't immediately undermine/dismiss it. Are some of those accusers also liars? Surely. But on the whole we take that demographic's accusations seriously. I'd like to see that standard extended across the board.

At any rate, this thread is not the place for such discussions. It's a news update regarding Brown's on-field availability and ideally should remain situated in that context only. The other mega-thread is a better venue for such political/societal discussions, IMO.

Isn't it amazing tho, not A SINGLE reporter, analyst, tv host cannot find a shred of evidence to question the charges brought against AB.

BUT any idiot can find a pile of it on Instagram.
It blows my mind!!
Think of it from the reporter/tv host's side of things. Would you risk being remembered as the guy who defended a rapist? Seems easier to say "my bad" if Antonio is innocent than sticking your neck out.

I need to see a review of the cum possibly hitting the back to see if it makes contact.
