It's because a lot of this stuff is incredibly insincere. It's a social club where the "spirituality" sadly isn't taken seriously by anybody involved.

He's not out of the woods yet. More like, "at this time, the NFL has decided not to preemptively place him on the list". From my understanding they're still going to meet with the accuser next week and launch their own investigation, at which point they could still decide to suspend him still.

Report: NFL won’t put Antonio Brown on exempt list before Sunday

Britney Taylor filed that lawsuit and is set to be interviewed by the league next week as part of its investigation into her claims against Brown. While the rules governing the exempt list are broad enough for the league to act now, waiting until the interview allows the league to weigh the credibility of both the accusation and Brown’s denial of all charges.

My gut feeling was that the Patriots might just cut bait on AB quickly, or that the league would see this as an easy PR win against a guy multiple teams and fanbases are mad for unrelated reasons, and hammer AB immediately. Shows what I know lol.

It makes sense from a CYA point of view for Goodell to do his little investigation first, at which point he can do whatever he wants and claim "due diligence" and all that. For all that's worth (see deflategate for details.)

Isn't it amazing tho, not A SINGLE reporter, analyst, tv host cannot find a shred of evidence to question the charges brought against AB.

This is a civil case
Civil cases are skirmishes of $$$$
NFL does not wield its power over civil action money skirmishes

If they did, the Browns owner would be excommunicated

Note: the NFL has dialed down their shield/punishment blood thirst
Now.... game issues, PED issues , criminal issues
