PatsFans.com - The Hub For New England Patriots Fans

Here since 2004... and I have now used the Patsfans.com Ignore function for the first time...

The “X” option is cowardly if the poster doesn’t state why. But we have childish posters that will read this post and click on it just to give themselves a kick....go figure

Because I’m a super mature 54 year old, I was able to resist the nearly overwhelming urge to click the red X on this post.

You’re ignoring the thread or a poster?

I don’t get why anyone would ignore a thread when all one has to do is not go into it.

I do the same sort of thing when Mrs Rover makes some delicious dessert and leaves it out on the counter. I know if I walk by it enough, eventually I’ll plug in the power fork and shovel it all into my cake hole. So I put it away, out of sight, so I’m not tempted.

Basically... yes... I’m weak and stupid...

See, I personally find it just as childish to give more than half a chicken s**t about what someone rates your post on an anonymous message board. People get way too sensitive about that.

Just curious...when you use the ignore function...does the post 'disappear', but you still see that the poster posted something? And what about others quoting said ignore poster?

Now I can relate to that! I don’t buy ice cream or other sweets because I’ll binge on them

So I buy unsalted peanuts & raw almonds. No way I’ll binge on either

I don’t care but I do notice them. And they all make but “Useful” and “disagree”

Just my opinion

But but... weren’t you there for the discussion of intelligent design and how it relates to Antonio Brown?

I don’t think I’ve ever clicked on the X

If I have, I’m sure I posted why I disagree

Clicking on agree isn’t the same

Caught you, your signature on the left says you have been here since March 5, 2005... not 2004. What is the real truth here??
Oops... faulty memory...

...sorry about that, chief. :)

Oldrover, you are probably in the same category as me. I am usually loath to register for something and give my E-mail address (because in so many cases it leads to floods of junk mail).

Thus, I was a very consistent reader of PatsFans.com for a year or two at least before I finally realized that this website was different, I saw the light, so to speak, and I registered. Of course, I'm very glad I did (my PatsFans.com commercial for any non-registered surfers).

The date listed is when you registered, I believe, rather than when you became a website regular visitor.
