Great recap, borg. My last post on this subject was EIGHTY pages ago when I had thought that this topic had finally reached a point that comments had started to repeat themselves. If you had written this recap 80 pages ago, it would have been appropriate.

I have no idea WHY this thread has gone on for this long, nor do I care to go back more than 3 pages to find out. Seems like its the same stuff we talked about then.

Here's the important things to remember.

1. It all happened when he was playing for PITTSBURGH!

2. Its a CIVIL matter. One party trying to get money from another for actions the other supposedly did.

3. Both parties in this suit have flawed positions. Clearly this isn't clear. ;)

4. Nothing I've read so far should (though I did miss 80 pages, ;) ) should disqualify AB from playing.

5. He's clearly an idiot, and I wouldn't my daughter go out with him, but if idiots were banned from their jobs, then the unemployment rate would be over 30%
What relevance does the Pittsburgh part have? He’s here now and ours to deal with.

Not saying this in a snarky way, just saying I don’t think clinging to what team he was on really matters.

No, not for him. To cover the legal fees of the women who file the frivolous law suits against our opponents. Was that not clear in my post?

Oh, even better. "This is a GoFundMe for an extortion racket" is a very cool and solid way to get arrested and charged with a federal crime for racketeering across state lines.

Still look at the writeup from a couple years ago here 5 Players You’ll See At The Super Bowl Who Were Accused Of Assaulting Women
"After the alleged incident, Edelman was arrested under charges of indecent assault and battery, to which he pleaded not guilty. His charges were dropped a month later after prosecutors decided that they could not prove the victim's account "beyond a reasonable doubt."

Makes it sound like he got off on a technicality rather than hey they have video and it was a complete lie.
Yea I remember the whole thing seemed odd and then he never really got his name fully cleared. It seemed like more of a "we couldn't find anything" than a "he didn't do anything" conclusion and I always thought that was unfair. He has been a model citizen since as well as a standout on the field.

Oh, that's even worse. "This is a GoFundMe for an extortion racket" is a very cool and solid way to get arrested and charged with a federal crime for racketeering across state lines.
It was a joke, that you didn't get that tells me all I need to know about you and your comprehension skills. The underlying point of the post was if the commissioner can bench a player with nothing but an unsubstantiated accusation it sets a dangerous precedent. Is that clear enough for you?

@Ian , this thread is getting way out of hand. Could we just have people stick to Antonio Brown?
Would you like to take back the word "stick" in regrads to this topic?

Not sure if this has already been posted, but in regards to putting Brown on the exempt list -

I’ll bet the Pats knew about this before they signed him, and they were convinced by Brown and Rosenhaus that it’s BS. If the NFL puts him on the exempt list he should sue them. There’s no criminal case here, which should tell you something.

And you know, how, that the Patriots were informed of this before they signed him?

All media reports on the subject (some that pretty much hate the Patriots) have been saying that the Patriots had no idea of this before the signing.

.

I'll just flat out say it. I hope he's gone soon. Pats don't need him. Don't need the drama and the next incident that will pop up at the end of the year because you know this isn't the end of the drama. It never is with him anymore.

I didn't want him in the first place so that sways me but yeah

Funny how the fake news media ignores the exculpatory evidence of the 2 of them in bed together in their undies. It identifies her as a liar.

I agree but we’re basically the only two here who see it.

Probably depends on whether "investigation" is defined anywhere; otherwise they could rule that reading the lawsuit was enough to count as an "investigation" and establish probable cause under those broad terms. There's probably precedent for a more narrow definition of "investigation" though.

Thanks to everybody clearing up the 75k for me. Didn't know that's how it works.
Peter King was just on WEEI and he doesn't know either as he was saying he should have just paid the $75k to make go away.

I wonder if current relations with the union (with an upcoming negotiation) will play into this at all. I would sure hope Brown has contacted the NFLPA about this in advance, since this would set a new precedent.

What a dumbass. If this was about $75k it would have never gotten to this.

She wants at least $1.5m as that was what she asked him for to invest in her buisness

Anyoneone with half a brain ( that leaves Goodell and his goons out) can see with the timeline and circumstances that this person/trainer bringing the suit is looking for $$$$. WHY did she continue to have contact with him after the first and second episodes? WHY did she go to his house for a third time ?? Why did it take 2 years to file this CIVIL suit ???? WHY didn't she file a CRIMINAL suit after episode #1..OR #2 ????? I smell a RAT....

Peter King is such an ass. He has zero backbone. Always supports the path of least resistance.

If Roger puts him on the CEL we should start a go fund me page for legal fees and have women file simmilar civil suits weekly against our opponents best player, then drop them after the game. Or maybe just for the playoffs..... ??

Think about this. Just find a person willing to lie and file a civil suit against Roger stating things similar to AB. If AB has to go on the list this quickly, then so does Roger. At first, it sounds evil, but then as I think of it, it actually sounds just. It is fair all across the board. The accusations of rape do not add in my opinion. So file a civil suit against Roger that does not add up. He would have to step aside.

...and buy her mom's property which I'm sure was inflated from a valuation standpoint
