god ****ing forbid you or your son or a male in your life is accused, we must "believe her", lock him up and toss away the key right? No questions asked. Guilty until proven innocent. Amazing the ignorance of so many among our current society about hundreds of years of established due process and the presumption of innocence. Shows the power of our media and how dumbed down and brainwashed we've become.

I know this sounds old fashioned but sex outside marriage was not always socially acceptable and never morally acceptable for many good reasons. When you choose to sleep around and many of us have, there are consequences. By following a moral code, you can usually avoid these kinds of things.

They were friends in college. "Early" 20s is quite the stretch.

Oh, didn’t realize that. Early 30s then. But still not an actual athletic trainer with any actual clients, and doesn’t actually have a gym either.

Why can’t you see that?
1) the NFL is allowed to
2) being accused of sexual assault means you’re guilty in the eyes of the public
3) Roger is all about following PR
4) Other owners will want AB suspended
5) Roger and other owners probably think NE tampered.

I’ll be shocked if he’s not suspended with pay while the investigation happens.

I'm surprised that you are seeing it that way, given what's being said about that as precedent. But your opinion on these things is generally helpful around here, so you have me thinking.

All true. She might have had a cornfield though.

That's just totally untrue.

Brown isn’t married, but I agree with your general point. Monogamy, commitment to family, etc. aren’t merely random religious constructs...they are evolutionary societal norms that exist for a reason.

The classic "he has a daughter, I have a daughter, so obviously he's a Saint" excuse is so eye rollingly stupid.

Brown will end up loving Belichick and Kraft, if he doesn't already. By letting him practice, treating him no different, the Pats are standing up for Brown and Brown will appreciate this. The opposite of what the Raiders did with the helmet thing. This might actually be a blessing in disguise for those who were worried about Brown working out.

Bills fan I know just sent me this

But I guess the Patriot fan base isn't satisfied with 9 SB trips and 6 SB wins in the past 20 years, you ****s need more and more and don't give a damn at what cost.

There were comments upthread about whether or not Drew informed the Pats in advance and critiques against him if he didn't. I'm sure the lawyers here could clarify this, but...

Isn't Drew a lawyer in addition to being an agent? Isn't what is said between AB and him protected by attorney-client privilege and can only be shared with the Pats with AB's consent?

I'm figuring Drew couldn't tell the Pats.

Regards,
Chris

Not true at all. They still need more info which they are getting as we speak
I phrased it specifically as an opinion.

I think if the Patriots wanted him on the exempt list, they've already set up plausible deniability for the franchise, and would have requested he be put on that list, and it would have been done before Belichick took the podium.

And we can all argue about who put them in place and what purpose(s) they serve, but there's no rational argument that they are anything but recent developments in human history.

Why? I just heard Bertram go off on this as well. I don't have a daughter, but if I did I would think it would be reasonable that I would not take on a client that I believe committed rape.

Not being facetious, it seems like a plausible take to me.

Paid leave?? How come nothing happened with Tyreke.

I take issue with you saying "this type of drama". Arguing with a teammate and team management is completely different than being a rapist.
you take issue? i agree, arguing with a teammate and management is completely different than being a rapist. Sorry to lump them into the same catagory of drama.
