Crazy how quickly a vibe can change from excitement to being bummed out.

This is the usual post-week 1 reaction in Jersey. Welcome to the club.

Just get us through the year and whatever happens to him is his problem.

But only if he didnt do this.
We may never get there. It’s possible that he never plays a down. I honestly wouldn’t care nearly as much had they not traded Thomas to the freaking Jets, yesterday.

When the actual statute is vague prior cases don't matter. The commissioner could easily say "the player is involved in a federally filed lawsuit that asserts a serious sexual crime which would be conduct detrimental to the league. Due to this unusual circumstance, we place him on the exempt list".

Won't happen.

Always something with this guy

This is dumb. My post was in reference to possibly getting something in a trade for him. For that to happen he would have had to burn his bridges with 3 teams in the span of a few months and he has uncertainty. He's not yielding much trade value

Your post was a lot of doomsday speculation.

We’re not in your sh!t club, JetsFan. On any level. My goodness.

I don't like the sounds of this. WTF does the league need to investigate regarding a civil suit? If it was a criminal charge, sure -- but a civil suit? I just hope Baddell isn't fishing for a way to keep Brown away from the Pats to help his Chiefs-to-Super Bowl agenda.
Could be the same cabal of owners calling Goodell that pressured him into deflategate. They see another championship on the horizon for the Pats.We can win it without Brown barring injuries.

Calling for investigation of JEST/AB/DT conspiracy to deprive TFB of my 2015 fantasy wide receivers.

Welp, we may be doomed to a whole season of pretty much what we got on Sunday night. Sigh.

Not. Good.

New England Patriots receiver Antonio Brown has been accused of raping his former trainer, according to a federal lawsuit filed Tuesday in the Southern District of Florida.

The lawsuit says that Brown, in three separate incidents — two in June 2017 and another in May 2018 — sexually assaulted and forced himself on a woman named Britney Taylor, a gymnast whom he met while they were attending Central Michigan together and whom he later hired as a trainer.

Shes probably a raiders or squeelers fan.

With all of this distraction I doubt brown will suit up Sunday. We don’t need him against Miami but it would of been good practice for him to build chemistry with Brady.

What makes you think anyone on the team is distracted?

Trading away DT with the idea that Brown would be playing didn’t help. We just lost 2 receiving weapons that could’ve potentially helped. It shouldn’t be that big of a deal, but losing both sucks.

gee...what a coincidence, eh? and Goody is nowhere near anything associated with THIS imbroglio. Very odd.

Well, it was fun while it lasted, which was about 48 hrs.

Zeke Elliot was never charged with a crime, and yet he was suspended for 6 games under the same “commissioner rules all” precedent set in the Brady case.

The Elliot investigation took a year not including all the injunctions and appeals. By the time the NFL is done this time Brown will be in his second or third season as a Jet.

Zeke Elliot was never charged with a crime, and yet he was suspended for 6 games under the same “commissioner rules all” precedent set in the Brady case. Is that correct, or am I misremembering? Or perhaps I’m misreading your overall point because the posts are flying in so quickly.

He wasn't charged but the accuser did file a police report the prosecutor just didn't bring the charges against Elliot because he didn't have the evidence but he said he believed the victim.

I haven't read the full civil suit but i'm assuming there is nothing in there about her going to the police. That kind of is a big thing and shouldn't be overlooked. She alleges 3 incidents happened and she never once went to the cops and instead waited over a year to file a suit and one of her "exhibits" is she took a polygraph. A. POLYGRAPH. Polygraphs are inadmissible. Putting that in there is basically saying "PLEASE SETTLE OUT OF COURT".

What "2" receiving weapons?

I have a hard time believing the pats traded DT to a division rival knowing AB could be cut or suspended over this acquisition. DT would of been kept imo.

It's also nonsense. PR is a thing. Turns out a large number of people don't want to watch someone running around earning millions playing a game when that person has done something they consider heinous.

It's ridiculous to suggest that the league shouldn't care about public perception especially when it comes to violent/sexual assault crimes.

I obviously understand the PR side of it. But as you say, people don't like watching players that have "done something." I would like more of that, players being suspended for actually doing something, not simply being accused of something.

As for Deus, I do appreciate his consistency. He took the same stance with Hill as he is now with Brown.
