Ugh. Goddamnit. Brown has done himself zero favors in the last few months for this case, as well. Innocent until proven guilty, for sure - but I'm also not gonna just say she's lying.

**** this all, though. Was really hyped on the season, this is putting a real damper on it at the moment.

Yeah I agree. My point is there are a lot of people that will jump to the accuser is a liar before seeing any evidence and will look for every reason to confirm that opinion.
Only ignorant people with an agenda.

Let’s hope Bob “happy ending / human trafficking” Kraft doesn’t punish the guy before it plays out.

Kraft wanted the benefit of the doubt.
He should allow his players the same right.

Unlike “happy ending” Bob, there have been no legal charges filed against AB.

Yes, accusers often have impure motives. Are you really so brainwashed as to think that's not true?
It's a little scary how many people are posting in this thread suggesting that it's not a big deal to ruin someone's life regardless of whether or not they're proven guilty.

Douchebag Adam Jones calling for Pat's to cut Brown... shocker

The texts from Donk fans are rolling in. Eagles fans texts will roll in tomorrow AM. Fun stuff!

You have specialized skills in everything you post. This is typical of your responses on this board.

Ask around, slick. If you'd have done that from the start, we wouldn't be where we are now. Instead, you got stupid. No need to double down on that.

Does the women get the same benefit of a doubt that she isn’t a liar or is she guilty from the start?

Step out of your binary, black and white perception of the world. Most likely neither party is lying about anything major. They are both subconsciously subtly shading what actually happened to avoid cognitive dissonance about the way they view themselves. Every human does this. They are both partially virtuous and partially dirtbags, like everyone else. That’s why we have a legal system—because people, and especially their memories, can’t be trusted. In a sexual assault case, only a slight trick of memory can transform a sexual encounter into a sexual assault, and vice versa.

**** this all, though. Was really hyped on the season, this is putting a real damper on it at the moment.

When the Patriots beat the Dolphins 127-3 this weekend you'll probably stop getting the vapors.

Because of how badly women were treated in rape cases before, we have gone the other way. Now the accused is guilty in public opinion without benefit of a trial.

Even if proven innocent, their reputation will stay tarnished. For a small percentage of people, the threat of an accusation is powerful leverage.

It probably does but I don’t think we go for him if this comes out prior.
You don't think Rosenhaus didnt know about this beforehand?

You don't think he told Bill Belichick, someone who he has a good working relationship with, beforehand?

You don't think Bob Kraft and Stacy James are prepared for this possibility?

Or you could patiently wait for the facts to come out and/or a trial to play out before passing judgment.

Tell that to the folks tearing this woman to shreds for making the accusation.

If we’re going to play the, “give him/her the benefit of the doubt and wait to see how the facts present themselves prior to crucifying him/her”, then the same standard should be applied to both the accuser and accused.

That’s true fairness, IMO.

Yeahh, If Brown is a no-go we'll need to use the same WR corps that beat the Steelers 33 to 3

darnit all, season over

Just great.

My point was less to do with this case, I mean if the first thing people do is assume a women is lying, aren’t they doing the same thing they claim to be against (assuming guilt)?
No, they're not. It's called standing up for another person's rights because we would want someone to do the same for us. The accuser has the same chance to have her day and prove her case in court as the accused does; it's not necessary to railroad the accused just so the accuser feels supported.
