Michael "Hawt Take" Lombardi naturally was like, "what a job Tomlin has done controlling all that", blah blah blah on his podcast. I'll never understand why he thinks Tomlin is a good coach. Someone needs to ask him.

You have kept calling him "Hawt Take" for at least 4-5 days straight in various threads and yet for some reason you keep listening to his podcast. Why ?

He's done the bolded so here's hoping he stays quiet when it comes to that.

*Sidenote*
Also not sure if anyone mentioned Gruden allegedly gave permission to us that call in AB's post last week. So Gruden was at least part to blame there as well .

When can we call the Gruden era a disaster? It's been one big L after another.

Since your last couple of answers when it comes to AB contained impressive depth about what you like about him as a player I wonder what your response is to this:

If anything my instinct is that this is more a factor of the extended plays he often had with Big Ben and not because he is a inaccurate route runner. But maybe you have a better take on it.

FWIW, "beat writers" doesn't always mean they know **** about football.

See: Trollin' Vollin.

Sure. The tweet just stood out a bit. But might be Curran's Brown bias more than anything.

Don't mean to speak for @BaconGrundleCandy, but it's all on tape. The media distorts things all the time, but you can't distort what's on tape.

I get it and I also don't really agree with what they are saying. But I'd love to hear from others who watch a lot of tape. For me the line between being a great route runner and improvising is sometimes a bit thin - even with some of the examples Baldy used.

Eh this is the same Curran who said the Pat's sold their souls to sign him.

Never heard brown was a bad route runner.

It's possible AB's "do it by feel" route running worked because Big Ben could extend plays. That could have given him the time to improvise. The Pats game is to get the ball out fast. When Brady does that the receivers need to be where they're supposed be.

Curran is dead to me. He is trying to play anti patriots so he can get a better national job and not look like a homer. It is too bad, he used to be one of my favorites.

Wouldn’t mind seeing him in the 81. Always liked when receivers wear the 80’s over the teens to be honest.

I think he’d look best in #82 IMO.

I think the entire saga is awesome.......to me it starts with the pats offering the Steelers a 1st. If that really happened, and the Steelers decided to take much less from the raiders, the it all unfolded as it should have.

You take the best deal and not some hate driven deal...the Steelers though highly of their idea of shipping brown to a crappy team and sticking it to their most hated opponent.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday that the full terms of Brown's contract are as follows: $1 million fully guaranteed in base salary, a $9 million signing bonus ($5 million now, $4 million later), $500,000 in 46-man roster bonuses and performance incentives of $1.5 million for each of these -- 105 catches, 1,298 yards, 16 TDs, or just more than Brown's 2018 production (104/1,297/15).

Just $6MM guaranteed. $10.5MM likely contract for one year. The $4.5MM performance bonuses aren’t likely with a 15 game schedule and time to get up to speed with offense.

I thought the same thing. He will be hard pressed to hit those in only 15 games with so many mouths to feed. If he does then great. One of the thing I like about this contract is that it actively plays Thomas' contract against Browns'

It is possible maybe 1 hit their max incentives but not both. Not with Edelman and Gordon and our RBs and yes... TEs (Watson will be back).

Unless Brady throws 6,000 yards there isn't enough to go around if everyone stays healthy. IF they do then all the better I suppose. We will find a way to fit it. I do hope Brown hits at least one of his bonuses though. It will help keep him invested and he won't feel like he was treated unfairly as they head into the playoffs.

Hey Adam Humphries - - - look what you missed out on!!!!!

Graphic Warning: Chris Carter causes Nick Wright's Eyeballs to Explode: :p
(if someone technologically competent can make a copy of that reaction in slo-mo, it would be classic!)

That lady shut him up real quick saying the chiefs defense didn’t get any better. They’re prob even worse this year.

If Antonio brown really want number 84, but can’t. Just add those numbers together....oh wait....

He should take #87 obviously :p

Wow, that was actually a really great conversation. The one thing even Carter missed, however, is the answer to the question: how did the Patriots' defense get better?

Eye-test...started last year. This D is for real. They can play any style and play it extremely well.

That said, I don't believe in crowning champions (except maybe in the NBA). It's a long season - this one should be extremely interesting. Tom Brady must be out of his mind excited about the possibilities.

(And for another thread: this off-season and next year should be incredibly interesting, as well.)
