OT: Welcome Trae Van Noy

Having kids was one of the events that made me stop caring so much about $ and more about experiences.

You also don't work in a field where injury rate is 100% and CTE destroys retired players lives.

I appreciate the sentiment, but i don't think it necesarrily applies to football players signing extensions. That type of thought would drive decisions like Luck's, and the LB from SF whos name is escaping me (retired real early)...

Congrats and mazeltov, Mr. and Mrs. KVN! :) To life!!!

(we're in l'chaim mode at the 'rover household... we too had a recent addition to our family... who came bearing a new and distinguished title for me...

...Grampa. :) )

Again, congrats to the Van Noys!!!
I bought all 3 nieces and my nephew their first Patriots jerseys. Congrats and may the lil' patsfans training begin!

I disagree again.

Sanders and Gronk and Luck passed up $ for quality of life. If KVN is smart with money, he’s already on his way to being set up and even resigning in NE “for less” would still set up his family forever.

Misconception that you can’t sign for less AND set yourself up.

I understand your position. I am just saying that for some people, it’s not the only position.

It was the right thing to do. For KVN to be with his wife and new child and for the team to be cool with it.

If he signs for a couple less bucks because of it, thats a byproduct of being a good employer.
A few years ago we had some renovations done on the house. It took several days.

In the course of events, I found out one of the guys working on the project was in the process of becoming a daddy.

I went up to the guy and asked him if was true. He said, yes. I looked at him and demanded to know what he was doing there on the project site. I told him to GO, immediately, and not to worry about his boss,as I was the one paying for everything.

He left. He had a baby boy. and his boss was fine with it.

Happy story, happy ending! Just how I like .em!

Beautiful looking baby - - what a great expression! (Basically, my look during the entire game last night).

When's the Bris? And who's catering?

.

Our grandchild is a girl, FYI... Penelope Jane. :)

I have 3 kids. I can't imagine life without them. Through all the love, frustration, fear, and laughter, I learned about real love and how a man needs to be both a caretaker and a teacher. The experience is worth every penny, and every grey hair. :)

Congratulations to the Van Noys. It's a beautiful world they are entering into now.

She's beautiful! So who is the caterer at the baby naming? And where are our invitations? (I'm learning from AB!).

Having a kid may make him want to (rightfully) get every penny he can get.

Yeah, I'm sure he'll turn down the Patriots minimum wage offer.

It's unfortunate he's doomed his son to a lifetime of autocorrect changing the spelling of his middle name.
