Antonio Brown

I assume that the Pats speak with agents all the time and a good agent would know what teams to reach out to. AB's release seemed possible for the past week so the Pats being fully prepared to act quickly would not be a surprise.

Oh uh. Reports of ABs messages being leaked

Dungy made the above tweet right after Brown was cut, but before being signed by NE. When it was brought to his attention that he’s now a Patriot so clearly it seems to be working out for him (and he won’t be a “big loser in the end”, most likely), Dungy’s response was “We’ll see.”
I hate holier than thou Dungy with a passion, you couldn't keep your son alive yet you want to comment on anyone and everyone like you don't have problems yourself, hypocritical, self indulgent ahole. Fk Tony Dungy.

Has nothing to do with us. What Brown may or may not have done was on his own. There is no rule prohibiting a player from orchestrating his own release.

You have to assume a front office like this one always has a plan for acquiring a game changer like AB on short notice.

From Boston.com:

“He wants to win a Super Bowl,” Rosenhaus said. “It’s a great opportunity for him to sign with a team that has dominated the football league for the past decade. It’s a dynasty. The future is now for Antonio. This is an opportunity for him to do something that he hasn’t been able to do in his illustrious career, which is win a championship. That’s what he’s looking forward to. That’s immediately the goal. That’s all he’s thinking about right now.”

Just hope this is true....

I would like nothing better than for my laughter to last through the 19th game.

I guess what I'm saying is to make a big deal about Mort tweeting something that other media guys already tweeted yesterday is to be part of the problem.
I dont know what to tell you Elijah

Feel free to ignore this thread, I'll be ok

lol he asked to be released

You are exactly what you're complaining about. Just remember that Jay.

This could back fire badly also... just saying. Unless he was faking all this crap, he could be very insubordinate
If so, you show him the door.
I'm sure the Pats have language in the contract to prevent him from "robbing" them.

I think he will fit in. He'll be allowed to be himself, without it being only about himself.
The Pats have come out on top a few times, and kicked a few to the curb a few times.

In any event, the benefits far outweigh the risks. IMO

The Patriots are apparently the MI6 now and Belichick is James Bond.

Apparently it takes a secret scheme to be able to pick up a phone and call the agent of the best WR in the NFL who’s a free agent and offer a contract.

It’s hilarious at this point. All you can do is laugh at the turds gripping at straws to try and piece it together.

I don't know - don't the Raiders have to complain in order for there to be a tampering investigation? What are they going to complain about - that we took a $30 million dollar problem off their hands? They wanted to cut AB and not be on the hook for a lot of $$. For all we know, they called the Pats and said, "if we cut Antonio can you pick him up so he doesn't sue us?" Or, "Guess what? We're cutting AB so get that offer you were going to make him ready."

BB (and RKK for that matter) has to have thought of this issue and done what he could ahead of time to head it off at the pass.

That's a good point. The Raiders seem to just want this whole thing to be over. I don't know if they necessarily have to be the ones to ask for it, though, especially in a league where the central office can do whatever the **** they want.

Er... Ok...

I mean, I thought this was worth creating so we can focus talking about whatever scandal is going to happen and not get it lost with all the excitment for the signing itself

If the mods think this is too much AB topics, they can close it or move it...

I don't know... what am I complaining about exactly? Giving an audience to a known liar? - EDIT It's not even rethorical, i really dont know

Then again, ill repeat, this known liar made us lose a 1st round pick and suspended TB. This is worth talking about and that is all that i thought when i created the thread

Pretty sure they won’t release anyone until they have to. My understanding is he won’t count until Monday, so my guess is Monday someone will be released. Therefore, anyone saying so and so will be released is guessing.

Good point. Most of the 'tampering' noise has come from Steeler fans and other bitter fanbases. They can make all the petitions they want but its not gonna matter lol

I love the sounds of it and am hopeful, but I mean what else is Rosenhaus going to say? We won't know until it actually happens.
