Antonio Brown

Can Mort just retire already? I am glad he is in remission and all that, but can he just go spend time with his family or something?

I have got so use to Patriots Hate I truthfully embrace it now. If I was not a Patriots fan I would hate us also. But I am a Patriots fan for which I can just smile and pat my shoulder saying “Bring it On”.

Has the verbiage of the contract been release? Trying to see if that $9M is actually guaranteed or if there's some kind of 'out' in the case of the worst case scenario and cutting ties with him as I've been hearing the contract is likely to have.

From Boston.com:

“He wants to win a Super Bowl,” Rosenhaus said. “It’s a great opportunity for him to sign with a team that has dominated the football league for the past decade. It’s a dynasty. The future is now for Antonio. This is an opportunity for him to do something that he hasn’t been able to do in his illustrious career, which is win a championship. That’s what he’s looking forward to. That’s immediately the goal. That’s all he’s thinking about right now.”

Just hope this is true....

Why are we giving any credence to anything Mort says ?
Bc last time he reported a major scoop about the Patriots, the team lost a 1rst round pick and Tom Brady got suspended for 4 games.

Truth non-withstanding

So what if Brown did. There are no rules against being a jerk.

11 of 12 reports he breaks are full of hot air.

I'm concerned. Concerned that after having years of crappy throws from Ben to make spectacular catches on, he's going to get bored catching perfectly thrown dimes from Brady that require no effort on his part. He'll leave after a few years to find a less accurate passer.

Who cares?

The idea that Brown wanted to accelerate his release in order to get away from OAK and play for another team is not mutually dependent on there being an under-the-table agreement with the Patriots that involved tampering.

It's going to happen.
I don't know - don't the Raiders have to complain in order for there to be a tampering investigation? What are they going to complain about - that we took a $30 million dollar problem off their hands? They wanted to cut AB and not be on the hook for a lot of $$. For all we know, they called the Pats and said, "if we cut Antonio can you pick him up so he doesn't sue us?" Or, "Guess what? We're cutting AB so get that offer you were going to make him ready."

BB (and RKK for that matter) has to have thought of this issue and done what he could ahead of time to head it off at the pass.

Agreed. That is a major point that is not going to be discussed.

Brown KNEW that the Patriots were interested. Steelers wouldn't trade with us.

The question that is really all about is: Has Brown got CONFIRMATION that the Patriots would still be interestd if he got out of Oakland?

That would be Tampering. If Drew (or anyone) said "hey, we got the Pats waiting for you." Then it's pretty bad.

If Brown wanted to break free of Oakland regardless of what happened later, then it's really his problem and his problem only

If they have a picture of BB with a Russian operative then I’m going to lose it o_O

How so?

At first, i thought AB was going crazy

But if it was nothing but a premeditaded, architectured scheme, to get the Raiders to release him (and possibly for the Patriots to get him)... Are you confident they won't crusade against us?

Cause I am not. I remember Deflate gate so clearly. At first started like a joke, but i never started laughing

I'm just referring to the information in the tweets. It's all stuff we heard yesterday, and none of it indicates tampering. AB doing everything in his power to get released just meant he had premeditated plans of leaving the Raiders. There's really no evidence that what happened afterward was premeditated beyond the obvious motivation factors. Of course the Patriots are one of AB's top choices if they offer the money they offered. Of course the Patriots want to bring in a guy like him who BB has complimented as an opponent (again, not tampering, happens all the time). It's not evidence of tampering that they offered a trade for him during the offseason, either.

I don't get why we're starting this already. There will be a scandal but it hasn't even begun.

Exactly, gotta have a pre-scandal thread.

He's not the only smackhole running his yap. Cowher, James Brown, Terry Bradshaw, and the other useless ones cannot contain their smug sanctimony regarding this situation. They can all fark themselves.

Anyone else really paranoid about a tampering investigation?

Not at all.

To be concerned about tampering seems to imply that BB would tamper. He knows the rules inside and out, and would never take any action that would violate the rules and expose him in that manner.

Maybe there was a statement to Rosenhaus along the lines of, "Look, we were interested in acquiring Brown earlier in the offseason but I can't speak about acquiring players who are under contract with another team. Make of that what you will, Drew".

This is going to be the wildest season ever. Now these turds think we had a scheme going on so AB could lose $20 million!

I LOVE WATCHING THE WORLD BURN! SO MUCH SALTY TEARS YOU COULD FILL AN OCEAN!!! HAHAHAHA

I guess what I'm saying is to make a big deal about Mort tweeting something that other media guys already tweeted yesterday is to be part of the problem.
