Yes, I think Bill tried to find a replacement for Jones last year with Dawson and Crossen. However, neither of them showed they could do it and Bill extended Jones instead.

His value is to stay on the team. It was bizarre people on here were pushing him to get traded when it’s so difficult to obtain a deep secondary not to mention one to two good CB’s in a passing league.

It's the smaht decision for Jon. How many times do we see in business where someone is doing a great job and then the mucky mucks decide to promote / move this person to a different role / system...only to see them fail. So then he is fired / released and has no job for a while and then has to take a "prove it deal". Jon is smaht....he knows the system...knows the coaches will put him in the best situations to succeed and will make 24m over the next 4 years comfortably working his tail off like he always has. I love Jon Jones...thank you for sticking around.

Well deserved. Outperformed Cyrus Jones, Dawson and Crossen.

A lot of people thought the sole reason we lost the SB to Philly was because Butler did not play. The bigger reason was that Jonathon Jones got hurt against the Titans in the Divisional game. That slot corner was surely missed in the SB. Glad he is signed. Important but underrated position

I am happy with this signing. That is all.

Bill saw the market for slot corners this offseason and came away with a steal. And a lot of guaranteed money, so good for both sides.

I more excited about this deal than Antonio Brown's.

Locking up JJ was key.

I remember a time when Kyle Arrington was the best CB on the roster and Edelman had to play CB to help out. Great move and sets the Pats up nicely for years to come.

Good signing. Jones has really improved as a slot CB. Knowing how much CBs cost i think we will look back at this deal and be happy.

Incredible depth at corner. We have the best secondary in the league once again.

Think I always took Jones for granted, but last night clearly showed why they "paid" him..

Jones given credit for 2 passes defended is a pretty good stat..

This DB crew is the best I can remember... and deep as well.

The Pats gave Jones a 3 year extension over the weekend.. He's now signed through 2022.
