Patriots releasing Bodine..

Well, that seals it.

Pat's 0 - 1 after sunday.

Team already has a Jethro in Stidham, no need for another Jethro on the team at the moment.

Strange. I'm no Dante Scarneccia or anything but Ferentz was one of the worst O-lineman I have seen this preseason.

He's up there with Jordan Devey for worst OL I've seen in my life (on the Patriots).

I find it funny. When he hangs it up (or is forced out), Ferentz is going to have a bunch of rings and quite a few years in the League. Regardless of what people think of his play, it's impressive he's been able to stick.

What's impressive about having a dad with a lot of football clout?

This + the fact that he won't go through waivers means this is most likely more controlled release as Reiss has stated. Nothing to see here really.
Keep your eye on former Stamford first rounder Joshua Garnet former the Niners. He has been hurt and now healthy. Last day cut. Needs to gain confidence back. Broken thumb in 2018. Might be a better Center than Guard
11 starts in rookie season than two years of injuries.
He has the smarts to know the play book quickly. This guy is red meat for Scar.

Does he have PS eligibility?

Well who are we going to start at center? Ferentz? OL doesnt look as much of a strength now that Andrews and Brown are gone

Karras

Lets not get into the business of overrating Brown. He was solid here by no means was he an all-pro LT

Brown was a monster, I believe the biggest OL in the league. He was well over 300 lbs. It was a luxury to have him in the lineup.

Nice pick up, Toys, but I'm in the Reiss camp. I think Bodine didn't immediately pick up the system and Ferentz was brought in to give us someone to back up Karras who will at least know the calls to make, even if he struggles with the blocks.

Whether Bodine gets recalled depends. Probably, but the guy you described is an interesting prospect. There will be options I guess. Maybe a PS possibility?

He was massive but it's not like we lost Anthony Munoz

So essentially this is a "If Karras gets hurt Sunday night, we need someone who knows the calls, even if they suck" move. Monday morning I assume Bodine is back, Ferentz is gone, and Bodine is hopefully up-to-speed enough by the following game to be the backup.

I wonder how many other HCs would bother to make such a move or just gamble that they'll be okay for one week without a familiar backup.

Im interested to see how Wynn comes back after the injury, if his footwork is alright or not.

Two things. Trent Brown played lt as good as you can play it by the end of the year and Ferentz sucks.

This would seem to be a scenario that makes the most sense. It’s a tough one to figure out otherwise.
It makes as much sense as cutting Hoyer.

I don’t mean another lineman. We likely lost crossen, to free up room for these lineman, in addition to losing a draft pick. I think Karras is a good lineman.
To free up room for these lineman? We only have 8. That's the bare minimum. We've carried 9 or 10 in the past occasionally. Crossen was gone because the Texans wanted him. Crossen is supposedly very religious, so I guess Easterby wanted him?

Knowing the playbook and being a decent football player are two different things. Another
Jordan Richards situation.

I was not aware the Patriots are so very intent on making Jack Easterby happy these days.

I don't know if he does or doesn't know the playbook. What I do know is he was manhandled multiple times throughout the preseason.
