That’d be an insane amount of money for 1982 lol.Good move in 1982
My fantasy football team says thank you
So much for the " not setting the RB market" comment. Jerry just set the RB market. He caved....big time. He still has 2 more big contracts to make and he's just told both of them that if they hang tough, they will get top dollar.Don't think Jerruh could try any harder to beat himself than he already has.
AgreedI just had a jolt of déjà vu. The rookie contract is running out on a good-but-not-special Cowboys quarterback. It's going to take a monster contract he isn't really worth to keep him, but if he walks, then what? Here's what I posted on patsfans 12 years ago:
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
I suspect the Belichick Football Bible would read a lot differently if he hadn’t unearthed a generational talent at QB.BB would have laughed and traded his ass. Next man up.
I just told a good friend of mine the same exact thing yesterday. He'd be down the roadBB would have laughed and traded his ass. Next man up.
Thank god we have BB and not Jerruh.
Watching Jerry operate makes you thankful for the brains trust running New England.
Dallas did deploy guys off the street when Zeke went down, and Dallas suffered dramatically. For a RB where you can find 4 guys off the street that can do the exact same...unreal.
HA
I wonder what the over/under is for Zeke's rushing yards on Sunday?

Pass first teams can get away with less talent at RB
Run-centric teams can’t
Hes a slightly above average QB. If DAL gives him $40m guaranteed they are absolutely crazy

BOTTOM LINE - He's going to have a VERY top heavy roster, but minimum wage guys will end up playing if anyone goes down. Kind of reminds me of how the Pats of the late 90's were built. Pats had great starting talent, but when some of them went down, the next guy up was a serious downgrade.
