If this group of wide receivers performs at all like we hope that they might, I think the Gronk-less Pats offense will be fine.

But I do wonder… Pats trailing, fourth-quarter, under five minutes to go, third and 16 from their own 36. Who makes the play?

Brady

They have a solid OL and good defense. They will not be an easy out.

OL and defense aren't really weapons, though. I was talking offensive playmakers...

I'd just stay away from it completely. We have no clue whatsoever how the offense will look and more specifically what McDaniels wants to attack without Gronk and neither do the Steelers.

It could end up being a sloppy tight game or a 50 burger.

Their main playmakers are RB Conner, WR Smith-Schuster, and (obviously) QB Roethlisberger, but they’re expecting a big leap from last year’s 2nd rounder, WR Washington, and they also picked up WR Moncrief in free agency.

Like just about any NFL team, they have enough weapons to pull off the upset, if they can cause a couple of turnovers and/or play tough defense.

If this game was later in the season I'd easily take the Pats. But the KC game in 2017 stops me from saying this is a sure win. I'll say 24-20 Pats. If the Pats do lose, they are starring at 0-2 headed to their personal house of horrors (Miami).

I think on defense it's going to come down to how well we stop Conner. We're lacking in some beef on the DL compared to last year, but have improved at LB. If that's enough to contain the Steelers running game, I feel like we have more than enough in the secondary to cover the Steelers weapons.

On offense, it's going to be a struggle, because we're essentially still figuring out what the identity of this group is. Overall this year, so long as Wynn and the whoever wins the center job are solid, I trust Brady to make the most of his weapons behind a good OL. But week 1... well, week 1 is always unpredictable.

Probably going to be ugly on offense early in the season for the Pats but just win the game.

Miami is trying to lose the season. The running gag in Miami doesn't apply.

I'll Be there! Thinkin about Rockin either my Pro TB 12 with Banner Thurs Night Patch two years ago vs KC or McGinest Jersey. I saw Willie Mac at Banner Night, he was real cool, talked awhile and took a pic.

Has anyone heard if Troy will be helping the team during the regular season? I think that would be great if he helped the receiver corps as an assistant. I guess we will find out Sunday.

"...special teams coach Joe Judge is pulling double duty as the team’s wide receivers coach, at least for now. Another former Patriot, Troy Brown, has been working with the receiving corps throughout the offseason and looks like he may be carving out a role for himself on Belichick’s staff.

Phillip Dorsett, entering his third year in the Patriots system, said that the differences between O’Shea and Judge are merely stylistic. Having Brown in the mix has been a joy for Dorsett as well, citing the manner in which Brown flourished in Foxboro from 1993-2007.

"Anytime you’ve got a guy that’s been there and done that at a high level – and done it here – it’s great," Dorsett said. "We know what we get from him, he’s been straight with us, and that’s what we like."

Is this the thread where we sh*t ourselves about the Steelers who Brady at home is

Dolphins could put a receiver at QB for week 2. And the game will still somehow come down to the wire. The struggles down there are inexplicable. Obviously hyperbole on the reveiver at QB thing.

Just don't know how the Steelers game will go. Part of me says we have most of the tools to win , it's "just" a case of getting them all to work together this early !!........I should have more confidence with our team and how they will prepare. I am sure the Steelers will be up for the game but they must have doubts given it is in Foxboro and what/who they are facing....will we come out super aggressive

I'll be in 325!

Driving back from upstate NY Sunday morning...reloading the jeep and heading to gillette...will be a very long day but worth it
