I saw someone claim that Hoyer had received 9m guaranteed and I had to read through the thread to make sure that was correct. Wow.

His agent is amazing. I can’t believe that happened during cut downs, that’s a great March deal.

Seriously...Irsay needs to be checked for drugs... oh wait...nevermind...

I'm basing it on what we have available, and it is what it is. You don't get to dismiss the numbers in Hoyer's case while pimping them in the case of Stidham v. JAG. Laisse tomber
No, but you can certainly look at the sample size.

And so....my ignominy is compete. :(

.......And now comes the ANGER! WTF, Bill? If you knew that you were going to cut Hoyer, WHY in God's name didn't you try and get at least SOME value for him. You mean to tell me you couldn't have gotten at least a 5th or 6th rounder. Christ, you paid that much for 2 fatties that would have been cut if you hadn't grabbed them. You're telling me that a QB to a needy team like the Colts wouldn't have gotten you MORE.

Sorry but while we owe Bill a LOT for the last 20 years, occasionally even he makes mistakes, and in the great scheme of things this isn't even a big one. Just seems like a waste to me.
BB can't have been surprised by what happened. Maybe, as others have said, he cut Hoyer (who by all accounts has always been a good soldier for the Pats) so Hoyer could go out and sign the best deal possible. Plus, everyone already knew the Colts were the most likely landing spot, and we probably aren't on their list of "most favored trade partners" right now.

How come we weren't able to trade him if he's receiving a 3yr $12m deal with $9m in guarantees.

Sounds like the Pats wanted him back at a lower price.

Good for Jacoby.

To be fair, Hoyer represents everything the Colts need right now, a veteran guy who's smart, knows how to read film and can help set up the offense with the OC and provide a stability and mentorship to both Brissett and their QB3, Chad Kelly, who's got people's attention and is probably going to spend the year developing on the roster.

I know I wouldn't have wanted to break camo this year with a QB2 who had not only played exactly 1 NFL snap, but already had a track record for poor discipline and behavior . At the very least rolling with Stidham we aren't likely to have that particular issue.

Jacoby's agent is even better.
