Burkhead did average 0.1 higher last season for a whopping 3.3 ypc. There is that whole thing about McCoy having 6 seasons of 1K or more yards and Burkhead has rushed for only 825 yards in 6 seasons. Very questionable who is better.

If Gunner is cut he would still be subject to the claim process. Granted because a few teams have further solidified their rosters the chances of him being claimed might be slightly less. 31 teams will have the option of claiming him before he can re-join the team.

I still think Dorsett is on the block. If he goes then DT will be signed.

Obi's status feels tenuous.

Not sure about Roberts or Meyers either

They still need a fatty DT. If they do acquire one I see Butler on the way out

Vested veterans (4+ years) are exempt from the waiver process until after the trading deadline. Then, all players are subject to the waiver process for the rest of the season.

I think Brady knows better than to directly approach BB complaining about a move. He might complain through other avenues (agent, Kraft, Caserio, Gisele to Linda at the mani-pedi....)

I can just picture if he complained to BB about a transaction:

BB: “Shut the funk up and do your job, ok (snort). I’ll go down the street and get Johnny from Foxboro High in here, the way you were throwing in practice Saturday......”.

But on the field the other night with Thomas, he looked pedestrian. Pretty much everyone looked pedestrian - Thomas was a man among boys. If they lose him, it's a major error, in my opinion.

Heck, they could have kept him on his team-favorable contract.

I'm hoping it's a wink-wink deal, and he comes back with a mutually beneficial contract.

We should find out soon enough. Rosters are finalized at noon, after which players can be moved to IR and replaced, PS signings begin at 1 PM, etc..

Unless you count folks who will be here for a week, that will be our situation. The issue is not whether BB would go into the season without a backup center on the roster. I'd be fine with that. After all, we can have Ferentz on the Practice Squad.

Croston and Ferentz will be on the Practice Squad, with the idea that one or both could be activated on Saturday, for a player or two who would be brought back after a game of two.

I'm hoping the Croston Ferentz romance is over for good.

Amid a report Demaryius Thomas could end up back in Denver, don't think that's going to happen. Still expect Thomas to re-sign with Patriots

McCoy is a better football player than burkhead but it’s very questionable that what McCoy has left is better than what burkhead has left.

I mean McCoy just got cut by a team that probably doesn’t have anyone better than burkhead.
