I don't like this

I think Hoyer gets cut and return.

Note that Hoyer has $1.5M fully guaranteed salary in his contract. I don't know if that affects things.

Hoyer, Burkhead, Slater, and Ebner are all vested veterans in the last year of their deals, so it would be a simple transaction to release them today only to resign them tomorrow after 1 pm. That would allow the Patriots to hold off putting some injured or ill players on the IR or NFI list until tomorrow making it possible for them to return later in the season.

Of course, they could only activate two players, but they’ll have some flexibility as to which two they activate depending on their roster needs at the time. Andrews, Froholdt, Calhoun, Rivers, LaCosse and Harry are the players I see as most likely to find their way onto the IR this way
THAT"s the part I find interesting is who is going to be on IR. That's when the REAL roster games begin

Unfortunately, I believe some team will quickly scoop up Calvin Munson. No PS for him. He showed way too much in the pre-season.

Hoyer's contract terms affect a lot. He can simply sit home and collect $1.5M. He could also sign with any team in the league, and have a good bargaining position. He could sign for a million and the patriots would pick up the rest.

How many of the approximately 1000 cut last year were picked up? Is Munson really one of the 30 best players who will be cut?

Pretty sure that means, if he's cut, the 1.5M stays..

Gunner gone according to Doug Kyed

And there it is...:(

Other teams could look at Munson for their Practice Squad.
That being said, Munson was unemployed for 4 weeks after being cut at the end of TC by the Giants.

My prediction: The following will be waived:
Brian Hoyer
Nick Brossette,
Jakob Johnson
Jakobi Meyers
Hjalte Froholdt
Dan Skipper
James Ferentz
Deatrich Wise
Nick Thurman
Trent Harris
Scooby Wright
Elandon Roberts
Terez Hall
Ken Webster
Obi Melifonwu
Malik Gant
Terrence Brooks
Edit, Hoyer is now off my list. I now believe he is safe.

Harry will not be put on IR if he is thought to be ready to play in a few weeks. He needs to practice with the team.

Hamstrings are historically problematic. Makes sense to give it time to heal properly. He could begin practicing again after game 6 and be able to return to the roster 2 games later. It’s not ideal, but it’s a luxury they may have at this time. It’s doubtful, even if healthy, that Harry would be active against the Steelers.

And, it would allow you to keep Olszewski and Meyers without possibly having to risk subjecting them to waivers. Edelman, Gordon, Thomas and Dorsett give you the time to think about long term with the rest of the receiver group, and I’ve seen enough to want Harry, Meyers and Olszewski as part of the future.

Olszewski waived. So much for that argument.

Brooks isn't going anywhere

Really Meyers? No way he gets on the PS squad.

That's what they'll be keeping. I'll continue to be shocked if they cut their 1st team camp leader Meyers in receptions & catch rate like others are suggesting.
