Yet we have Dorsett on the team. Who also disappeared until he got to know Brady. He showed me things that not many rookies ever show: how to create space, great hands, fearlessness going over the middle. So he has no rapport with Brady, but that's to be expected. Didn't he start the first 2 preseason games? He burned some starters.
When did he burn starters?
I’m not sure i get your point on dorsett. He is a guy who is barely hanging onto a job after being a first round pick.
If Meyers upside is dorsett that’s not a good argument to keep him.

Players this young are hard to evaluate but ignoring the fact he struggled as soon as he faced real competition is ignoring what causes most WRs who go undrafted to not be able to make it.

I still think they'll both be there, and a few weeks ago I would have put Meyers over Gunner, but with Gordon's reinstatement and DT's surprisingly fast recovery, I think pure roster need is tilting things more in Gunner's favor. To the extent that they're competing at all it's for WR6, which basically means the guy with more ST value would typically get it almost by default, and that's Gunner.

But between Gordon's relapse risk and Thomas and Edelman both coming back off injuries, I kinda expect Belichick to place a greater emphasis on WR depth than in years past, and Meyers is more appealing in that role. Plus I could see Gunner winning a roster spot as a ST specialist with little-to-no regard for his WR value, in which case they would be in less direct competition anyway. Like, I wouldn't be shocked if Gunner makes the roster purely by virtue of taking the roster spot vacated by King. And if he can take over the PR role, saving Edelman from taking those hits probably brings more value to the WR corps than anything either of them will do as receivers in their own rights.

Mostly, though, I want to see Gunner stick around because I think he has the athleticism and apparently the mentality to maybe turn into a real asset at WR down the line. Certainly not worth betting on, and not worth a roster spot by itself, but if he can stick on the roster with his ST contribution it's an intriguing possibility for the path his career could take.

I just hope Gunnar wears Elvis this year

What?? No Braxton Berrios??

It's a question........... Gunner, Meyers, neither, both???

Sorry - forgot to put "Poll" in the title.
Sorry I only respond to “MOSSLOST” polls ;)

I think both make it as neither will make it thru waivers. I think a guy like Ebner will be let go in order to keep the younger less expensive players.

I really like Bolden back on the team but he’s one of those bubble guys with the tremendous depth we have at that position

Ebner and Bolden are both on the team for their high caliber of ST play. Their value at their nominal positions is a useful plus.

What? You are going to purposely ****** the career of your #1 pick to keep a guy who will probably never contribute in an nfl game?
Let’s put winovich on IR so we can keep beck too.

Obviously if he is healthy, the. We shouldn’t put him on IR but if he has a knock, then it’s something I’d consider. I also realize I’m not Belichick and I’m on a forum. So my opinion is worth what it is, an opinion.

But putting him on Ir sets him back 2 months. What would you be gaining for that major sacrifice. The 53rd roster spot will be churned over anyway.
You would have to be gaming a hell of a lot to disturb the career of your #1 pick, and basically ruin his rookie year.
