Bills are trading C Russell Bodine to the New England Patriots

His salary is $1.9 mil. I'm not sure if his cap hit is $1.9 or $2.1, but either way, that sounds like a lot for a backup center. The Patriots must like him. I wonder if they expect him to beat out Karras.

Russell Bodine

Bodine's cap hit will be 1.9M for the Patriots. That's NOT a lot for a back-up center. Not when you consider how important they are to the O-line. My guess is that Bodine pushes Karras for the starting job.

Stidham could sue Ferentz for last night.
Thankfully the family card expired..

They missed on some good C's they had their eyes on in the last two drafts and I was hoping for the next Georgia man Gaillard on day 3 of this Draft. Hopefully Karras can step up with Josh scheming around hist strengths and weaknesses but his inconsistency might be harder to overcome so I wouldn't be surprised if Bodine takes over. Hardly exciting but I guess the best under unlucky circumstances..

The Highlights I saw had Ferentz and St. Louis both being culprits that Stidham could sue..

Why not wait until after cuts and see if anyone decent is released before burning draft picks on mediocre vets?

Random fact: in high school, Bodine attended Fork Union Military Academy.

Good ol' Fork U. o_O;)

Presumably because they think he can help the team. BB and Scar working with a bunch of new guys makes me feel good.

Up until last year we wern't really lightening it up with the Draft Picks.

The Patriots are last on the waiver wire.

Yodny Cajuste ... the forgotten man of the Patriots roster experts.

No one has forgotten him. He's on the NFI list. Unless something changes, that's where he'll be for at least the first 6 weeks of the season..

Because, currently, the Pats have 12 or 13 draft picks (i've lost track because of the trades)..

It's better for the Pats to trade a late round pick for someone like Bodine than it is for them to HOPE someone get's released that will WANT to come here. Remember. Once they hit the market, ANY team could grab them. Just look at what happened at WR and TE during FA. Players went elsewhere because they didn't want to be stuck behind Edelman and Gronk. That was the case for Beasely, Humphries, and Jared Cook. Cook flat out said he signed with NOLA because he thought Gronk was staying in NE..

Bills and Cincy fans on Twitter keep saying how bad this guy is. The fact that he's started 70+ games the last 5 years tells me he's at least capable. Considering where he's played I'm sure he hasn't received a morsel of the coaching he's about to with the Patriots.
Wait until Scar coaches him up, might be ready by Thanksgiving for some solid backup duties.

To be fair, he did suck balls in CIN and BUF. Difference is, those teams don’t have an uncle named Scar...

He was terrible? Yet started every game he played in for them... Then started every game he played in for Buffalo.. Played in 74 of a possible 80 games in 5 years..

He's a JAG.. That doesn't make him terrible.

Terrible was Skipper.

Interesting that the Patriots could find three back-up OL so quickly.
You'd think TE would be just as needed.
Given their spot as the last team in the waiver queue, it makes sense to trade away sixth and seventh round picks for players they want.
Hopefully they find a tight end upgrade in the next 24 hours as well.

Terrible was Skipper.

Is this one of those games where you have to name players worse than the one before? In which case, I'll call you: James Ferentz.

Just the first few snaps last night were a farce. It was as if the quarterback had a supermarket trolley in front of him and it was being pushed backwards into his face.

I thought of mentioning Ferentz except he's had moments before this year.

I've only seen Skipper stink.

Why are the Bills helping us?
