Trade week

Shocked to read reiss say elandon Roberts only 14 snaps in regular season. He's getting traded.

Have you looked around the league at backup QB's?

I wasn't thinking of a pick, but a better swing tackle than the JAGS we have now.

Maybe someone another team is cutting anyway, but might not last to us.

I think he’s right there in the middle of the pack with most of the backup QBs. He’s not the worst but he’s not the best. He’s your prototypical backup who can win you a game or two if you don’t ask him to do much besides not screw up. Maybe they get lucky and swap him for another player some team was going to cut but I doubt we would ever get anything substantial in return for Hoyer.

Is a L. Waddle level player considered substantial, because that's what I am looking for.

Been said previously, but Josh McD has to be celebrating dodging this career ender, likely with a fine single malt calming agent.

I think we all know McD would have traded Luck five minutes after his plane landed in Indianapolis.

If someone of that caliber was on the chopping the block for another team then I could see that swap happening.

You know Bill.

The player could be some 3rd-4th year former first round bust.

I really think it won't be hard to at least find equal players to these bums.

Huh. I'm not really following his reasoning there. Isn't a low snap count in preseason usually a positive (barring injury)? For example, the big DL who has played the fewest preseason snaps is Guy, while Parry and Kamalu have played the most.

Not for a player with Roberts position on the depth chart.

WR - Treadwell vikings
DL - Solomon Thomas San Fran

Maybe Thomas, but I can’t imagine what Bill would do with a waste of roster space like Treadwell in an already crowded WR room.

He offered up a couple of blockbusters involving four or more teams, one of which included the NBA’s Houston Rockets and golfer Jordan Speith.
Makes sense. Brady golfs with Speith.

Don't get me wrong, I love Harmon and what he's contributed. He's been a very steady 3rd Safety and normally I'd consider him a lock. But these aren't normal times. Again, assuming Chung is back, I see Harmon is being a luxury we can't afford. Add to that Brooks is a quicker and faster possible replacement who adds more ST's value. And THEN there is the "binky" factor. Harmon is standing in the way of my own personal "binky" Obi Malafanu, so, sorry he has to go. ;) But seriously we really do need to get younger at the position and Obi represents that youth movement.
It’s doubtful that Bill will break up that Rutgers connection in the secondary, especially with Steve rising through the ranks. It would be a surprising move.

Hoyer to a QB desperate team for a draft pick that is far higher than his worth.

I'm not saying Stidham is a future HOFer...yet. But Brady has been very durable (knock on wood). If he goes down for an extended time It won't matter is Hoyer or Stidham is the #2. We'll either sink either way or Michel and the D will step up to carry the team.

Yeah, but it would be helpful to have someone who can run the entire playbook, as opposed to a fraction of it. I don’t think any of us want to witness a repeat of the limited high school offense that Brissett ran in the 4th game of 2016.

Who has started the absolute moronic narrative that Hoyer is here to keep Brady happy ?
Hmm. I'm not sure it is moronic. First, there is the fact Brady and Hoyer are known friends who -- just as a minor aside -- both went to college in Michigan (Brady at Michigan and Hoyer at State). Second, Hoyer got brought back after time away. This latter fact proves that Brady and Hoyer must have had a decent enough rapport during Hoyer's stint between 2009-11 for the team to bring him back (or Hoyer/Brady patched up any differences in the interim).

While Hoyer is not on the team because he makes Brady happy, I would bank on the team making some moves to keep the GOAT accompanied by at least a couple long-term friends/people he gets along with. Can you imagine being a 42 year old 6x NFL champion surrounded mostly by 22-30 year olds who are far less mature and accomplished? Having Hoyer and other veterans around provides Brady a few friendly faces and people who get him. When there is a 15-20 year age gap with most players, having a few guys closer in age can make a guy like Brady feel connected enough that he doesn't just throw his hands up and retire. AKA pull a Luck.

I wonder how Stidham is fairing with the playbook compared to Brissett that year. Does Stidham seem to be soaking up the offense at a faster clip?

Why would Brady give a crap about Hoyer a job?
Because Brady is a human being who likes having people he trusts around him. Stidham is probably a nice kid, but Brady in all likelihood looks at him as a child rather than colleague with the massive age difference. Hoyer is someone who Brady has developed a good working relationship with, so yes, I'd think Brady would want him around in some capacity.

I can’t say for sure, but I’m guessing that both QBs ran a limited set of plays during the preseason. Stidham may be showing more.
