Barring Injuries, Is a Pats-Chiefs AFCCG Inevitable?

KC defense will be a work in progress.

I have a suspicion that they will be playing solid ball as the season winds down.

Rumor has it that the Texans may trade Clownery.

BOB would screw NE in heartbeat and deal him to KC.
Do you really think KC wants his $16 million cap hit?? I doubt he'll be on the opening day Texans roster when his contract would be guaranteed and KC ( and many others) might try to sign him if he was released...at a lot lower rate....

There is always a way to finagle these contracts and KC is in a win now or bust mode.

Andy Reid is not long for BBQ town if he does not win a Super Bowl.

Agreed. They can’t get any worse.

I've seen too many playoff upsets to consider any match up inevitable. The 2011 Packers were 15-1 and got smoked in their 1st playoff game. Any given Sunday happens all the time in the playoffs.

No the Chiefs lost some talent from last year, you can't expect Mahomes to repeat at that level, and the defense is still trash. The Chargers could easily knock them out or even put them into wildcard status which would hurt them.

KC needs to duplicate what they did last year. First seven or eight were great, but their second half was not as good. Question is can that team improve on what it did.

Not near as worried as last season. Pats defense seems better and the running game is poised to improve even more. That’s a good formula to beat these kind of teams.

KC is a Hill episode away from imploding. Pats are a more complete team but Mahomes can definitely kill you on any given Sunday. Not a guy I love to go up against.

Um..so who else is AFCCG material? Jags?

The Bills actually. I've been keeping an eye on them in the preseason. They seem to have a very balanced attack, they have an excellent run game and their young QB is rounding into shape. Their defense is usually pretty solid. If I had to pick a breakout team in the AFC this year, it's probably Buffalo.

Bills have been hovering on the verge of legitimacy for the last few years and if their QB can mature a bit and really start contributing, they are in a position to be competitive this year.

He hasn't won in 20 years of coaching, why start now.......

Luck has retired. Colts are out as a contender. Chargers have key injuries (And their chokers.) I do think the Steelers are improved. But Tomlin holds them back.

Injuries can change things. But is this rematch nowca safe bet? Or is there another team lurking who could be dangerous? (Jags maybe with a competant QB & best defense?).

when was the last time AFCCG was the same in back2back years?

I'm pretty sure the AFCCG won't be KC vs NE. There are always surprises each year. Who predicted KC to make the final 4 last year? Not a single soul.

Browns will be there. That team is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball. The league is going to give them some help with calls this season too. You wait and see. The hype train is full steam ahead.

2011-2012 Patriots vs Ravens

It’s like asking -“barring bad weather will it be nice out tomorrow?”

Injuries are always a factor by playoff time, and who goes out &when will matter. That said the Patriots are built to withstand injuries in most units, but QB isn’t one of them. I expect N.E. vs K.C. In January, until then ................

Chiefs are one Tyreek right cross away from fighting for a wild card. All while Hill is fighting women and children.

This.
They were 4-4 in their last 8 games with 2 of the wins being against the raiders.

That Denver defense looks top 10 at worst if Flacco can get going and they can run the ball.
Denver could take It away from KC

Josh Allen doesn't really look ready for prime time as far as I can tell. They're not pushovers but can't see them as a legitimate threat.

Any chance we see Mahomes regress a little?
