Andrew Luck Retires from NFL

I admit I did think that Luck was going to break all the passing yards records.
I’m not sure that I went that far, but I did expect him to go to the SB at some point, with some deeper playoff runs along the way.

Unbelievable talent that gave his everything for such a **** franchise.

He deserved a lot more from them, never had an O-line protect him until last season when it was to late.

In presser, Irsay in total denial of reality. Keeps indicating Luck might come back because no one can predict the future, despite Luck making it clear he is retiring with finality. I love watching Irsay in utter grief and embarrassment. This man is human scum. Wish I could be a reporter to remind him that since his frame job, TB12 has 3 Super Bowls, 4 AFC Championships, is undefeated against Luck (never even a competitive game). Burn, you douchebag. Hope this is just the beginning of his nightmare.

Reich and Ballard look like they can't wait for the presser to end so they can polish up their resumes and get on the phone with their agents.

It's really sad that the NFL gets a generational talent like Luck, and let him go to a team with no OL and killed his career. Maybe they should rethink the draft order and move to more of an NBA style lottery...

“Oh no we suck again”

Can someone ELI5 the booing? They booed Luck today after he announced his retirement?

Seriously?

Karma has kicked the Colts so hard in the balls, over and over again. I love it.

Makes sense for him, though. His body is falling apart, he hasn't been anything close to healthy in.... 3 years? 4? Plus he's been surpassed by a whole generation of younger, better QBs that came in behind him. He retired just young enough to be remembered as a what-if, and not as a Matthew Stafford

Like most here, I'm trying to curtail my schadenfreude with sympathy for Luck.

I actually like luck. The colts are a joke of a franchise. I never understood why bill polian is so revered. He did a nice job with bills when there was no salary cap. As soon as things got harder ie a salary cap he lucked into Peyton and got one Super Bowl. Matt Millen could win a Super Bowl with Peyton. They won 1 super bowl in 20 plus years with manning and luck. If we had those two QBs we would have won six Super Bowls. Oh wait.

The Colts drafted enough OLine players. If they couldn't protect the QB it's likely because of poor coaching, or else the QB holds the ball too long, or else the QB may be brittle.

Shout out to Ryan Grigson whose awful tenure as GM ensured that the Colts won't be the B-level AFC Championship threat they were starting to look like.

The damage was done by the previous incompetent staff and FO.

I feel bad for Luck, I wish him the best, for the Colt 'fans' and their scumbag owner? Nothing but scorn. A lot of you are too young too remember the Elder Irsay was as big a jerk as the son. The way he took the Colts out of Baltimore, not enough bad thing can happen to him.

Here's last year's stat line for the "just wasn't that good" QB, fwiw. (And Brady's below it for comparison.) Luck didn't live up to the preposterous hype of draft day, but he was plenty good.

Comp Att Pct Yds Avg TD Int Rating
430 639 67.3 4,593 7.2 39 15 98.7
(375 570 65.8 4,355 7.6 29 11 97.7)
Playoffs :
12 TDs
13 INTs

And that is after a 3-1 2018... people are obsessed with his regular season stats. Yet he was an INT machine in the playoffs vs real teams.

There was one competitive game, and then this happened. . . .

I am stunned...i respected a lot him and the Nfl loose a great playier

All the best Andrew
Take care and live yr life

Well wow. I guess those injuries really took their toll.

Frankly I don't blame him. The Colts will probably never win a championship even if he stays healthy and with his injury history his HOF chances are no better than Rivers and likely much worse if he doesn't win. When your professional prospects look that bad; added in with the health concerns you currently have as well as future ones; do you really want to do this for 10 more years?
Lol they had that lucky horseshoe on their side. Tanked in 1997. Picked Peyton Manning over Ryan leaf in 1998. Peyton started to get some serious neck problems so they tank again in 2011 and draft one of the most hyped up QB prospects in 2012 and what do they have to show for it? 0 Super Bowls with luck and one super bowl win in 2006 over the rex grossman led bears and one super bowl loss in 2009 after a saints pick six. What a dysfunctional front office

Sorry but i cant be bothered going through 17 pages.......right it's the colts and they get what they deserve, but to my knowledge Luck was a pro player and it is sad to see a talented player retire years too soon....the booing by the fans ?....poor to say the least and sums the fan base up.
