Andrew Luck Retires from NFL

How does a franchise QB get “mentally worn down”? I’m so glad that didn’t happen in our situation.

By getting selected by a team like the Colts. Hypothetically speaking if he gets selected by the Patriots he probably shines for more years. Then again -- to be fair to the colts -- if he had been selected by the Jets he would have been thinking about packing it in on life itself by mid season rookie year,

Part of me wants to point at laugh at the Colts, the human in me appreciates Luck has a lot of life to live and to ensure quality of life, should do what's best for both himself and his family.

Appreciating Luck is a human being and laughing at the misfortune of the putrid franchise he played for are not mutually exclusive feelings. I think most of us have very similar somewhat conflicting feelings. But at the end of the day F the Colts, F em all.

Truly amazing that that organization had 2 of the best/most promising QB’s of their generation in the last 20 years and have one Super Bowl to show for it. I like Luck and this really does suck for him but the Colts failed him. Irsay deserves this.
And they had to draw an incredibly weak NFC opponent to get it.

Idiotic statement
Why is it so idiotic? Luck and Ras-I Dowling, what did they really achieve? I will say with the investment put into Luck, the timing of this decision makes him a bigger disappointment than Ras-I.

Time to throw another season. Nobody throws a season like Indy!

Sure, he played at a high level in the worst division in the AFC until lately.

Mahomes is better than Luck ever was.

Yeah, not looking forward to a whole generation of fans mythologizing Luck as the great what-if of this QB generation. Even at the same points in their respective careers, he was closer to Stafford than Brady, Manning, Brees, Rodgers, etc.

Take a couple years off, get healthy, join the Pats when Brady retires.

Suck for Luck
Suck with Luck
Just Suck

The curse of deflategate continues....
Good luck Luck

If this had happened to the pats I think they'd still have a winning season with stidham. Granted the divisions are very different but irsay never helped out luck. They only recently started to build the line. Should've gotten luck a running game from the start. All starts with ownership. They should go for Derek Carr

I feel like there is more to this story. Some sort of dis function behind the scenes that will start to trickle out from anonymous sources. Maybe he tries to Carson Palmer his way out of Indy at some point.

like has been mentioned here I think he comes back and when he does the Colts may have to trade him to another team if they've already invested in a replacement

this may be a genius move on Luck's part to get his mind and body right and then start fresh with a new team

adding more thoughts

I don't think we've seen the last of Luck in the NFL

once Colts invest in another QB if Luck unretires, the Colts will be forced to move him because of the salary cap, similar to what Favre did to Packers in 2009

Andrew Luck always seemed like a good guy whenever I saw him on TV or read about him, and I wish him and his family all the best. I’m sorry to see him retire this early, but I respect his decision to be true to himself and walk away.

These guys go through hell. I have nothing but respect for Luck. I hate the Colts but I can separate that. Most can’t
