Annual There's No Way _?_ Makes This Team.

Doesn’t really matter much what we think. We need a backup qb, really just 1. If BB thinks the rookie is competent at this point Hoyer is gone. If he doesn’t think he is ready yet he will keep three.

You won the Double-Your-Money prize, because there's no way that either Greg Hardy or Warren G Harding makes this team.
:( Feel like I won the Ben Volin award for not doing a quick google search to confirm something obvious

It the main reason Hoyer isn't cut is because he's Brady's pal, that tells me a whole lot I would never have wanted to believe about Brady, Belichick and the franchise.

you mean something truly weird like a 43 year old QB retiring after the season?

.

Either way this was Hoyer's last camp with the Pats unless something truly weird happens.

Reiss wrote the following snippet today in his usual Sunday column:

Ever since Harry hobbled off the field in the Aug. 8 preseason opener, he hasn't practiced in full. And in the limited time that reporters have been present at practice -- basically for a light jogging session -- the rookie receiver hasn't passed the eye test in terms of looking comfortable.

Which made me wonder if there is a totally other scenario in the cards where Harry starts the year on IR (with clear intention to be reactivated) while he is rehabbing. I am not sure how likely this is because he'd have to sit out 8 weeks.

But with the logjam at WR, the hamstring being a notoriously lingering injury that is easy to aggravate and a chance for him to rehab this without pressure while continuing to study the playbook you gotta wonder.

Gunner Olszewski, mostly because I want to be wrong on this one. If the Pats feel compelled to try to get him on the roster, the hype train is starting. Really intriguing as a guy who could contribute on ST now and has the potential to grow into a real asset as a WR.

Rex Burkhead
In the 4th quarter of the AFCCG last year, with the game on the line, Rex got the majority of the reps at RB, (aside from the 2 minute offense). It showed what Bill and Josh think of what Rex brings to this offense.

Yes true...some of that was because he's a 2-way threat. Last year Sony was not...and White may not have been the best choice at the moment for some reason. This year with Sony most likely catching more and Harris chipping in as well...it's a reasonable argument so say Burkhead in this case....IMO.

Dontrelle inman

Maurice Harris...

Duke Dawson

It will be an interesting choice between Brooks and Dawson for one of the secondary spots. I don't see a way to keep both. Maybe even neither.
