Did he do anything right from your godly position?

Gunner looked fine running back the returns, but any talk of him making the 53 IMO are a longest shot, which was what I was responding to.

Berrios was clearly the preferred choice going into camp, but showed little. I think after the interception from Hoyer Bill decided he was done with the player, like we've seen many times in the past.

Someone had to return punts last night. I think Gunner earned himself a spot for practice squad consideration, but do you really think they are going to carry him on the 53 (and activate him for the 46) after being an after thought most of camp?

My observation only was pointing out that his decision making was questionable even in his one usable skill.

I think that there's a clear group at WR, and the question is going to be how deep BB decides to go at the position. I don't think there's any question about which 4 receivers are the best right now (Edelman, Gordon, Thomas (if), Dorsett), but Harry's a lock as a first rounder, and Meyers has impressed against the backups.

If they go with 6 WRs, Meyers is in. If they go with 5, I'd have to be guessing at BB's mindset about youth and potential with regards to Thomas/Dorsett/Meyers.

I don't think the issue is 5 vs. 6; it's 6 vs. 7.

No. He's PS bound (hopefully ours). To be on the bottom 1/3 of the 53 you have to do more than one thing. He's not top 5-6 receiver and Gunner is not a gunner, yet. He can tackle and needs time to grow his receiver possibility. He's been the best punt returner in preseason. Good find by the college scouts.

Positive:
- Sony
- Defense
- Izzo
- Dorsett

Negative:
- Injuries
- Penalties

I have the feeling there will be less sharing of the workload in the backfield than people anticipate.

Maybe but it stills comes down to game planning and health.

So what’s the message there from Brady..
Clear message to Jethro, you lack experience, decisiveness, and trust, now sit down behind my boy Brian.

well I mean I think you can use Sony against every opponent a lot and be effective. But this is given clean bill of heath.

Injury update:

Except for King, not so bad.

Pats fan in Atlanta here; I have to share this. So, I'm hosting poker last night and the football game is on in the background in another room. I walk by it to grab another beer and catch exactly one play of the game. The Falcons have a perfect screen pass set up and the QB airmails the ball at least 10 yards over the the RB's head. It's the 4th quarter so I know it wasn't Matt Ryan who threw it. I look closer to see who made such an awful throw and the back of his jersey says...Etling!!!

That game was a billboard ad on why you don't buy tickets to the Pats preseason games.

Cowart should be a lock. Meyers maybe not...we'll see.

I used to live there.

The joke was go Braves and take the Falcons with you.

I found watching the game frustrating as they seemingly never show key replays. When there is a big hold I'd like a chance to review it to see if it really happened, how bad was it and did it impact the play. Michel has a 30 yard run called back by a hold yet we never get to see it. Sometimes a penalty means the player was beat or out of position, sometimes it was a ticky tack call. Nice to be able to see it to make your own assessment.
On the replay of the run, you could see the hold (by Jacobi Meyers) it was a borderline call, pushing & holding on both sides, but you can see it....
Preseason camera work always seems to be pretty sub-par.

I think the big takeaways I got out of last night's game were:

- Dorsett is making the team
-Meyers still needs to gain the confidence of Brady, he's our number 6 behind ( Edleman, Gordan, Harry,Dorsett, D Thomas)
-Berrios isn't going to make the team:(
-Our D is going to be really, really good this year.

I'd be surprised if Meyers pushes Harry off the 46.

The wild card is Harris
