Chung cocaine indictment?

Wow, so people actually do recreational drugs and get serviced at rub and tugs? Damn those crazy immoral Patriots! Clutch my pearls...

This sucks.

That is all

Well there you have it. Obviously the cocaine was not Patrick Chung's. It was the dead drunk cigarette boater's. Case closed. Now everybody move along.

Lake of the Ozarks man.......

I wouldn't worry. He's going to walk. I doubt any NE judge/Patriots fan will sentence him to jail. At most he'll get a fine. Now Goody, on the other hand, will likely suspend him for a few games. We can live with that.

Not really, and even if someone like Obi one or Brooks were to take over, there’s no way they’re going to be able to wear all of his hats.

Luckily, jury selection and trial are not expected until next spring, and there’s a possibility that Chung was going to retire after 2019, anyway.

He just signed a new deal. I hope he doesn't.

It's fine. That is all.

Even if you ignore the charge itself (penny-ante is what is seems like, but regardless) - there will be zero action taken on it this year. Jury selection is set for spring. The league already said they'd wait for the courts to act.

Panthers fan from a Panthers forum chimes in, for that member who thought we should go after Tre Boston.o_O
glad we have character guys on our team. the only blow tre boston does is coverage

Reading the detailed article of the arrests, Chung had the least serious violation while all the others had some kind of intent to distribute. The Grand Jury found enough evidence to indict him, but that's a long way under these circumstances from a conviction. This could get very interesting.

I read that Laconia article as a list of recent local arrests/court assignments. They don't have anything to do with each other they are all listed separately. The paper buried Chung in the middle so you would have to read all that drug stuff to get to him and assume they are all connected and that his case is worse than it is and he is getting a free ride cause he is rich/famous. Definitely trying to taint the jury pool.

Usually it’s just a bunch of guys that pick it up after a bar and take it back to someone’s house to talk about businesses they could set up and politics...
...or to watch a Pats game with...from what I've heard.

4 games would be reasonable

I hit the link that tracked all the arrests of team players broken down by teams that went back 20 years. The Pats, as we would expect had the 4th FEWEST arrests over that time.

There was one interesting item that I found very interesting as it pertains to this case. I had entirely forgotten that Harmon had been arrested for trying to bring in a few grams of MJ while on vacation to Costa Rica a year ago. According to the site, that case is still pending,

The thing I got from his is that it seems there wasn't any judgment by the league against Harmon for this arrest. To my knowledge no suspension or even entry into the first level of the drug protocols. Zero sanctions at all

Granted there wasn't an indictment like here, but it would seem that, assuming Chung's blood test are clean, the league isn't going to act until an actual verdict comes down. Thus, as far as THIS season goes, it's a case of, "nothing to see here....move along"..... Except for Ben Volin who will be "on" this story like its the Lindberg kidnapping.

He’s getting up there in age for a football player, and he puts his body through a lot of punishment. He’s still recovering from the broken arm that occurred in the SB, and that was almost 7 months ago.

I think he could be looking at one or two more years.
