Chung cocaine indictment?

Not the guy I would have guessed would be involved in something like this.

I don't really care tbh.

I don't care about the action itself but I do hope it doesn't affect his availability for the team. One of my favorite players

Patrick... why?

Cris Carter told you you needed a fall guy...

Well s**t...

I think there's unfortunately no way he doesn't get 4 games if not cut outright. It's not weed possession or even an alcohol DUI (while much worse ethically, the entire Cardinals front office gets away with it).

Why the hell would the Patriots cut him over this? Unless he was moving a ton of weight and facing real prison time, which has not been indicated yet, that would seem to be a move where they would be cutting their nose off (no pun intended) to spite their face.

Damn NH doesn't play around...

Give him a couple game suspension for the booger sugar and be done with it.

I honestly don't care if someone does a little cocaine in their spare time. Hopefully it isn't a full blown addiction though. I hope above all else he is in a good place.

I wonder how this all came to light. I don't think Chung is in night clubs doing lines in public or throwing cocaine parties every weekend. You never hear anything about his personal life.

Most people don’t do coke like that.

Well NH is having issues with heroine right now so that may be why the drug laws are tougher? Personally I don't think it becomes a big thing. If this is a first offense and a non-dealing situation I doubt he will see much if any jail time with a half decent lawyer.

Wait til we see a article like Josh Gordon gets other Patriots addicted to drugs.
Yeah that or something like

The Uncertainty of Tom Brady's Contract Situation Drives Patriot Player To Cocaine Addiction.

Sad if true , not exactly a great example to others , anyway better things to think about like tonight's game.....some final positions to be decided , so let's hope for a good performance.

This is problematic to say the least. I don't care about Chung using coke so long as he isn't struggling with dependency, quality of life, or harming others.

But in terms of on-field availability this is a big deal. He's a key cog in our nickel and has done a good job covering TEs since his return.

Best case scenario is that this is resolved in a fair and amicable way legally and he doesn't face jail time (if he isn't distributing coke he should not go to jail IMO), and the league hands down a 2-4 game suspension.

Worst case is that he's in serious legal jeopardy and is cut. In which case, we're looking at Brooks, Obi, or possibly Dawson as a replacement. Maybe even Crossen? Hell, maybe they kick DMac into Chung's role and let Harmon assume DMac's previous role as a starter.

Exponient determines that Tom Brady was generally aware of Chung's drug use, suspended 8 games as a repeat offender.
