Pats - Titans postgame thread

Initial reactions:

- The Patriots have a left tackle! Phew. Now we can shift our angst to the swing tackle, because Skipper doesn't look like that guy.

- I'm amazed by Meyers' polish and control.

- When Chase Winovich was on the field in the 2nd half, playing against 3rd stringers, he stood out. When Mike Pennel was on the field in the 2nd half, playing against 3rd stringers, he disappeared. The down arrow on Pennel is real.

- Premature assessment of this draft class:

Skipper will be the swing tackle. Scar is coaching him up.

Wynn looked very good. First game back against the Titans. Showed some real toughness taking on power & dissed some out too. Very light, quick feet. Hands were there first but I'd have to watch it again for consistency.
Beat his man to edge on occasion. Handled passing off some defenders w his teammates & was fast to get to the 2nd level when he needed to. The TD play I dont believe he touched anyone but he never needed to. He was at his spot faster than anyone else.

Harris showed his great vision. Hes legit. Can do it all. Tough runner. Can obviously bounce outside if its there. Can catch. Block. Perfect fit.

I thought Meyers was making the 53 since we got him. He's making the team. Him & Harry showed be able to really contribute as the 3rd & 4th WRs. Rookies but both are excellent at the catch point, 50/50 & showed earn Toms trust if that haven't all ready.

Stidham looked vg at times. Bill isn't handing the job to anyone. He'll draft someone. Maybe a FA vet. That said Stidham is making a great case for QB2. Very tough to make a case for Hoyer & I'll get to that in a min. He looks so comfortable & really thats the biggest difference in the world for him from Auburn. He always had the accuracy, arm talent & mobility but outside of the offense he had trouble when asked to do more. Looks very comfortable & relaxed here although a bit jumpy at times. Again big case for QB2.

One last thing before I forget. The Pats basically erased 2018 from their minds & looked at what he could do in 2017 as opposed to what he couldn't in 2018.

Wino was great. Had him as a 2nd rd pick so I'm so pumped hes here. His motor is just tremendous. Vets could take a page from his book. Just get it done. That said he showed some legit flexibility tonight & the ability to get flat. Combine that w his hands/motor & hes a big time contributor YR1.

Impressed w Williams too. Our CBS are so good & versatile. Williams looked a little more comfortable to me as well. He wasn't as hesitant out there from last game & showed a little toughness in run support I believe. What I group.

Ok in terms of the 53 I'm only looking & adding depth at OL/DL. For me rn Hoyers presence behind the scenes has to be huge to earn a spot over someone else. I'm going w the best guys at CB, RB, WR & everywhere else & not worried keeping "X" when we have a strong group in front of him. I would be very comfortable keeping 1 TE & Dev for the 1st 4 weeks.
Only positions I'm doing that for is OL/DL. It gets a little foggy a little quicker there so I want as much depth as possible there.

Williams absolutely showing he belongs. I think he played a cleaner game than Jackson did tonight. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up taking a lot more snaps than people expected when he was first drafted. Nice to see one of my draft favs doing well.
To defend Jackson it seemed like he was playing in Gilmore's spot at times. Not his best game.

How much did WR Berrios play, I saw he was only targeted once for zero catches?

Only two offensive positional players who stood out were Damian Harris and Myers. Inman had a couple good catches.

I've been rooting for berrios but tonight was a step back especially when he rounded off the route and allowed the DB to pick Hoyers throw on the first drive. If you're that size you need to be quicker.

Tonight was extremely sloppy. Probably two thirds backups played tonight. Not sure why we see do much Brandon Holden except with stidham to give him support.

Harris runs hard and has good vision. Can also catch the ball.

Meyers has a strong get-off, catches the ball well and just looks like a seasoned vet.

Winovich is relentless, is always around the ball and has a refreshing personality.

Williams looks like he belongs at CB and played much better this week.

Stidham bounced back from a tough start and showed poise out there.

Munson played hard and was around the ball; I hope he makes it onto the practice squad.

Wynn looked good out there. Seems to have a quick first step.

Sorry to see Rivers and Calhoun have to leave the game. There was a report that Calhoun seemed to be okay, but nothing on Rivers unfortunately.

The new players are really looking strong and will add some more life to the team.

NFL Network showing the game at 1 am. I'm watching it again. Most interested in Brady's sideline reactions to see how well Giselle coached him this time around.
