JOSH GORDON REINSTATED

What is going on here? Been out enjoying the great outdoors all day, just cranked up the beginning of the game and there's this thread. Wow. I hope Josh Gordom can make this work. His substance abuse issues go way back and will be tough to overcome. All the best to him as a person and a Patriot. Not many people get second chances like this.

Second chance?? Seems like one of the Major Leagues Steve Howe kinda last chances. :D

$12??? $20???? Man you guys got hosed, fnord is more than willing to to be a great very caring dude for $5. You can check the bathhouse wall for details
Is that $5 bid, or asked?

The negative vibes about Gordon is still here without ever giving him a chance this year.. depression and substance abuse are a two edged sword that is difficult to shed. Some get it and some never will..

I grew up with a bunch of guys who had alcohol abuse issues, and you never knew who you would be dealing with... sometimes good and sometimes bad, without regard depression/substance abuse are considered a dual diagnosis which can be complicated to treat and difficult to abate.

In the group of guys I grew up for some the light came on and they realized they needed to and did something, while others remained in the shadows.. my hope for Josh is that he has great support system and has finally figured out what he needs to do to avoid triggers and relapse.

This start to the interview seemed to p1ss him off. He was completely shut down and grumpy in the rest of this interview and in the post game, whereas in the past few years he's been only partly shut down and much less grumpy. It left me wondering if he's not pleased with the assumption that just because the NFL says Gordon can join the team doesn't automatically put him on the team or get him playing time. In other words, the NFL doesn't control the Pats roster and player rotations, he does.

You’re right that some get it and some don’t and there’s never a predictor for anyone.

I heard a caller on EEI yesterday try to to explain that addiction isn’t a disease and it’s a cop out for weak people. I believe he was one of those OCD/type A people that take pride in the false belief they are masters of their lives and are “stronger” than most

There are many like that guy that don’t have a clue and view everyone from their own personal lense

Could be true. Honestly, I just thought BB was livid due to the 1,468 penalties in the first half.

You are talking about Gordon mentoring Harry. It’s silly to think that results in learning a skill and ignoring all attitudes.

From the information we've got, Gordon's got an amazingly positive attitude and work ethic, and will arrive in camp in better shape and more determined than ever. He learned the playbook last year very quickly, and did what he needed to do to gain Brady's trust. What's not to like?

And you don't think Harry can sort out the addiction/medical issues as something not to emulate? Please, that's insulting.

I agree. I would think that for the dual diagnosis the first thing to treat is the depression since a lot of guys self medicate to deal with it. Once the depression is under control, then the addiction can be tackled.

I've never used ignore but considered it when you let the ending of Avengers out because of some spat you were having with a boomer over some stupid millenial comment. I forgot about it shortly thereafter, but never did go see the movie. You suck. Lmao
Yeah it was crazy. Thanos came forward in time and had the Avengers beat again. He had the Infinity Gauntlet on and said “I am... inevitable,” and snapped his fingers but nothing happened because Iron Man stole the Infinity Stones and put them into his own gauntlet. Thanos, confused, looks over at him and Stark says “yeah... well I am... Iron Man” and snaps HIS fingers and Thanos and his army turn to ashes. Then Iron Man fingered Pepper Potts’ assh0le one last time and died.

My $.02: tune out the clueless ninnies. They know who they are.

Sono geloso, compagno!

Anch'io sono geloso. Ho cercato di convincere la mia famiglia a fare un viaggio in Italia e l'unico a cui sembra piacere l'idea è il mio cane.

I play poker and golf with men much older than us. When I hear them talking about their friends that have passed away it's usually related to drinking.

I think it's safe to say that most of us are pulling for this young man to get his life together, Pats player or not.

Just wondering (and not singling goheels out). . .

Everybody seems to equate his last couple of suspensions with positive tests for substances/particularly grass, but do. we know that?

The program is supposed to have some privacy aspects and could it be he simply didn't make the tests or not in time?
Or even that he had other banned substances that we all know (Edeldude ) can be in other products (innocent sometimes if the player doesn't pay attention).

I don't know all the rules of suspensions and GotoHell makes em up half the time anyway, but could it be POSSIBLE he has been straight longer than most here are giving him credit for?

Just curious, someone on this board knows the rules better than me.
