With the plethora of talent that the Patriots have, we could see several trades before the start of the season. Whether it's to bring in a TE, a Swing Tackle or just future draft picks. Please note that I am NOT saying the Patriots should trade these guys. I'm stating that these players currently have trade value and could be dealt to improve an already impressive team.

Elandon Roberts - With the addition of Collins and the team having added Bentley last year, Roberts will be coming off the bench. Roberts still makes mistakes and is a liability in coverage, but he's progressed tremendously the last 2 years.

Jonathan Jones - He's on a 1 year deal. Guy is an awesome slot corner who can also move outside in a pinch. The team has Crossen and Dawson behind him. Crossen would probably have more value than Dawson to other teams, but Jones would be the big fish.

Duron Harmon - He's been a stalwart back there. The team added Melifonwu last year and Brooks this year. Harmon's value is probably close to being at it's peak. There are plenty of teams needing a good starting safety. The question is whether the Patriots feel confident in Brooks/Melifonwu to take over if DMac goes down.

Braxton Berrios - Slot Receiver and Punt Returner. There are still some teams who don't have a slot receiver and Berrios fits the bill.

Philip Dorsett - Dorsett is competent #3/#4 WR. I think that Dorsett's biggest issue is that he waits for the ball to get to him instead of adjusting to the ball, more often than not. That being said, he led the team in catch % at 76%. He's got a decent rapport with Brady.

Joe Thuney - He's in the last year of his contract. It's rumored that he turned down a contract extension. He's an All-Pro caliber player and should easily fetch a quality Swing Tackle and draft pick in return. It wouldn't be the first time the Patriots have dealt one of their best O-linemen in a contract year.

Brandon King - King is arguably one of the top 4 special teamers on the Patriots and has been since making the team 5 years ago. He can play on several of the special teams units and is an excellent tackler. Saying he's a linebacker is the same as saying that Slater is a WR.. Its for posterity.

Nate Ebner - Ebner is also arguably one of the Patriots best special teamers. If anyone watched Team USA Rugby in the Olympics, you see the attitude that he brings to the field. He literally made everyone on the field better when he was on it. I think that goes the same for Ebner on the Patriots Special Teams. I would hate to see him traded, but with the potential of $2M in cap savings, it may happen.

Ryan Allen - Left-footed punter who is damn good at putting the ball where it's needed.. Was clutch for the Pats numerous times last year. Also on a 1 year deal. His value depends on whether or not the Patriots believe that Bailey's hang-times, are worth the inaccuracy..

Harmon and JJ aren't going anywhere, we are contending for title this year and have the best chance based on our roster.

I don’t think anybody is going to give up anything for Berrios. Probably just cut.

Hope they don’t trade Thuney, rather lose him for nothing and have him. O line depth is too valuable.

I like the premise but not the list of players.

Jonathan Jones is the only one who stands out as potential trade bait, but not for cheap. I think a starter, or a guy with talent to start, at tight end, could be a good swap.

Duke Dawson for a failed tight end who has physical talent and didn’t live up to his draft status. Basically a swap of guys who are likely to get cut.

I can’t imagine Berrios has much trade value. Wonder if they could get some average running back for him. They could use another downfield runner like Michel in case of injury.

If Dorsett was worth anything, he wouldn’t have accepted a 2M offer from the Patriots with just 500K guaranteed. He’d more likely be a waiver wire player for interested teams.

Agree with all except Harmon, who is by far our youngest safety who we can rely on. DMac and Chung have 2-3 years left at most.

I don't think we would get more than a conditional 7 for Berrios and his value here is probably worth more than that (unless of course we plan on cutting him outright).

I could also see us moving Wise or even Rivers.

A year of Jones = being about to put 3 really good corners on the field, plus McCourty. That's such a good look. And if he has a good year, the comp for him signing a big contract is likely to be equal to whatever they could get in a trade, just a year later.

Is it the old saying we should only trade our players if we can improve the overall team.....so it would be Jones or Thuney as far as I can see. A previous poster said for a known starter. I do not want to trade either of them and would rather see them get an extension but the we go down another street 're cap space and I don't know enough about that

Hoyer to the Eagles. Sudfeld broke a bone. Kessler in concussion protocol. Depends on how good Stidham looks the rest of preseason.

I could see us trading for a tight end. Or maybe Eric Saubert for a 7th is all we need. Keep an eye on Wynn and Skipper, if that looks shaky we could trade for a veteran tackle.

A lot depends on injuries around the league, ours and other teams.

No way do we trade Thuney given that we are shallow at OT coupled with the fact that he is a pretty damn good guard.

Ditto for Jon Jones.

I can see us trading some of our DE's, LB'ers, and maybe Dawson.

I agree but will our other potential trade players get an improvement over what we have already ....Maybe OT ?

If we can't sign Thuney let him walk and we will get a 3rd round pick for him.
I haven't heard Thuney turned down extension,source?

I think this is a pretty good list DaBruinz

Some thoughts:

I think Duke Dawson is more likely to be traded than J. Jones, unless Duke steps up his game.

Don't understand why so many are convinced Harmon stays. Just look at the contract and competition.

Agree with others that nobody will pay for Berrios.

Wise, Adam Butler and I think Hoyer is even possible ..........

The roster is so deep. This will be interesting and probably sad.

I think we are going to see a fair number of players from this year's Pats camp play - and play well - for other teams. It's a nice problem to have, having too many good players in camp. I'd rather they turn some of them into other useful stuff rather than just cut them.

The trick is figuring out which ones to trade and which ones to keep.

Jonathan Jones is not going anywhere. He’s cheap and gives BB a ton of versatility with matchups.

I see Jones as the next A.J Bouye. Someone will pay him as a starting CB next spring.

Is Jones even the #3 corner right now?

I think Ryan Allen can fetch a 7. Maybe Burkhead if a team has
a rash of injuries at RB.

I wouldn't touch Thuney even if he leaves Pats after the season as a FA. Brady is obviously getting older and one injury would ruin everything for him and for the team. Thuney is the fundamental part of our OL which responsibility is to protect our QB. Why should we trade the player who is so important.
On the other hand I am glad we have so many gems in the roster.

I think Wise, Harmon, Dawson, Roberts and one of the punters could potentially be traded and bring something back though it would not be substantial.
