JOSH GORDON REINSTATED

I may not have understood the statement but would this mean he could play against the Panthers ?........Also would it be sensible for the coaches to ease him into games as he has not played since last year and a decision must be made in 2 weeks

This is the most disingenuous comparison I've ever seen. One person likes to get drunk and high. The other is a serial abuser.

It wasn't a comparison. The abuser should have gotten a consequence. The fact that he didn't doesn't mean the other should get off the hook. It's actually a fact he was suspended so many times.

I believe he can't play until week 1.

There were two 2007 offenses. Before/After Thanksgiving.

Before? No way.

After? Yes

Before thanksgiving, they averaged 41 PPG. After thanksgiving, it dropped to 29 PPG. Not sure what happened, but the offense took a hit after the Eagles game.

In any event, I am starting to like the 2019 offense better than 2017. I don't think it will average 41 PPG, but I do think Brady has more weapons at his disposal this time around both at WR and at RB. Plus I think the offense will be more physical. We'll see though - hopefully I'm right.

Huh?
1000 yard WR is OK. Do you disagree with that? Ok give it another term. But it’s not excellent.

For a $604,117 salary cap hit to the team, it is freaking LEGENDARY.

I would hope the Patriots have SEVERAL players who return that type of dollar value for their production.

This is 2019. Take off your leather helmet.

THIS year, they have him at $2,025,000 with no guaranteed money and ZERO dead cap hit if they trade or cut him.

That is E-X-C-E-L-L-E--N-T.

.

Ok put up a poll. Was josh Gordon one of the 6 best WRs in the nfl in 2018.

Anybody: "That was a delicious strawberry"

Andy Johnson: "Why are you claiming that Strawberry Fields is the greatest Beatles song of all time!!!?????"

This is moving the goalposts a bit though. At the start of this nobody cared about his salary, just how much time he had in our system and the plain results. Now we are adding other parameters which to me speak more to excellent value but not necessarily excellent results. I can get paid $20 and jump over the goal line from 1 inch away and score a game winning touchdown. That would be excellent value, wouldn't make me necessarily an excellent player or 1 yard for 1 TD on the season excellent production

Gordon can't play until the 4th preseason game....Giants

Once again, if you listen to BB, you will elarn what the Patriots are about, versus what you and Nick Wright think.

Julio Jones and Odell Beckham Jr have HOW many rings?

It's how a team operates and wins/loses in the 21st century. Super Bowls are not won or lost based on individual statistical production. They are won or lost based on value optimization of 53 men versus their salary cap hits. I just gave you the Key of Life to the NFL in 2019, my son. Use it well. :D

Ignore his ass.
The ignore function is the tool of the weak. An internet safe space. But, by all means, if you DO choose to use it, please post a big announcement letting the poster you’re using it for know that he’s on ignore.

Andy. Let’s put up a poll. Let’s see if the site thinks 1000 yard pace and adding 65 yards of offense to Brady per game — with no camp and no preseason and no week 1 or 2 When he was injured is.

A. Excellent
B. Just ok

Oh I 100% understand what you're saying. I understand that excellent value is what this team is predicated on and what Gordon brought to the team for the money he made was excellent value. It is just looking at it from a strict production standpoint that I'm hesitant to give him that much praise.

This reminds me I had a particularly "easy to annoy" stretch and had to ignore Sammy after another cat pun but I think I'm ready for him/her again now

It's called the salary cap.

And given his space on the Patriots salary cap, his performance last year was freaking BEAUTIFUL. $604,118 cap hit for THAT production?????? Josh Gordon

Dollar for dollar on the team's salary cap space, if 53 men performed like Josh Gordon did last year (and STAY on the field), then the Patriots are going 19-0. His play was excellent value. His off-field problems weren't.

That's the way the NFL world works today. It ain't the uncapped 1970's.

AND the Patriots are well protected this year!

Cap Space=$12,990,353@patscap

$2.025 million is Gordon's salary and cap number. He has no guaranteed money. Therefore, there will not be any dead money IF waived or traded. https://twitter.com/networkdood/status/1162590679874146306 …

What will his cap hit be?

The discussion was not about his value. The discussion was not about his challenges. The discussion was not about when he arrived.
I congratulate you for recognizing the weakness in your argument and deflecting it away from the point. Good job taking advantage of the fact that I respond to every point directed at me, regardless if it’s irrelevance to the topic. It completely allowed you to move the direction away from the actual point of disagreement which was me saying Gordon was not excellent, not Gordon of 2013. I stand by that and we both know I was right.
